  • "The holiday property was very good, in a beautiful quiet setting, surrounded by native Irish trees and plenty of evidence of care for nature and for biodiversity."

The owner gave us a warm and generous welcome which we really appreciated.

  • "We had a wonderful time at Cornode Cottage."

The cottage was lovely, spacious, clean and welcoming. The grounds were truely beautiful, private, secluded areas with its own private, sheltered harbour. We swam in the lake every day. Thoughtful touches - tea, coffee, milk and cake (delicious) upon our arrival. Plentiful bedding for all the comfortable beds including the cot. The facilities were great, dishwasher, washing machine ( a bonus with our 2 year old grandson) and even a tumble drier! We will be back!

  • "I was one of four adults and we all enjoyed our stay in Cornode cottage."

It's a very welcoming and comfortable cottage with all the facilities we needed in an idyllic setting just back from the edge of Lough Derg. An ideal place to escape the hustle and bustle of everyday life, but with the lively Larkins bar just down the road and a handy shop within easy driving distance in Portroe.

  • "A very nice couple, Geraldine and William, who own the cottage made a terrific job of the house and the very big garden."

It’s really a little paradise with its own little harbour and a huge ‘estate’garden. In the cottage was everything what you need, including a rather new bathroom. One little problem what we forgot to mansion is the noise of the showermachine (triton). Once you have been there, any other cottage cannot compare.

Thank you Hans for the nice comments regarding the house and garden. Lovely meeting you both and your friends. I must compliment you on your beautiful handwriting in the guest book. Best wishes to you, C and friends Property Owner

  • "A lovely place to stay backed up by first class attention from the owners."

Everything you would ever need for peace and tranquility. The fishing wasn't very forthcoming from the Loch, but that's fishing for you. !!. However, it was redeemed with many sightings from the local kingfishers darting back and forward only topped off by sightings of a Pine Martin in the woods. A great holiday all round, well recommended.

Thank you for selecting Cornode for your recent stay in the Shannon region . A pleasure meeting you both. Property Owner
