  • "We really enjoyed our stay and appreciated the owner’s speedy response on the one occasion when we needed to contact him."

Some more cutlery, dishes for cooking and serving food, a couple of Pyrex jugs and a few more wine glasses would be good additions in the kitchen.

  • "The location was superb for visiting west of Ireland."

It’s real traditional Ireland at its best and the owner was lovely and accommodating after an initial plumbing problem. A few things I would add would be a bbq and a few extra utensils and the skylight in one of the bedrooms needs a blind or you will be up early

  • "I enjoyed my week in The Cottage very much."

It met all my needs & like someone else has said, I loved seeing the horses every morning as I ate breakfast. Joe was very helpful & unlike another house that I have stayed in recently, wi-fi and electricity were included in the cost so there were no nasty surprises at the end of the week. Also loved that my furry friend was made welcome too.

  • "We arrived at the cottage between 6+7 pm we met the owner Joe Morrisey and he showed us around and explained what we needed to know."

First thing to greet us was the musty smell in the property and it was very old fashioned as we went around the property sorting who went where as there were 6 of us one in particular my son who suffers with a serious respiratory condition we had to get in and clean down surfaces door handles we were all to touch not a good start then we realised we were sharing the property with any number of creepy crawlies when we opened windows some of the handle pieces fell off. The property definitely did not meet our expectations there was only one good thing we could say about the property and that is its location ideal for the touring around Clare we planned to do. We took photos to show how bad the house was i can forward them on privately. We definitely would not recommend this property unless it underwent some work and major cleaning. We feel some of this falls on your company to check these properties during a season for cleanliness it is the worse property we stayed in.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry this property did not meet up to your expectations and that you found some issues. The owner is upset you did not make him aware of any concerns during your stay as they could have easily been addressed. He has not noticed any musty smell and has not had any smell reported since or prior to your stay. He has seen your pictures of a few spiders but they are difficult to control at this time of year. We do hope you enjoyed your stay otherwise and thanks again for your comments. Property Owner

  • "The cottage is clean, very spacious and well equipped."

There are beautiful views of the sea and countryside from the garden and living room. We visited the Cliffs of Moher, Loop head peninsula, took a trip to the Aran Islands, bathed on Fanore beach, went spotting dolphins in the Shannon estuary, visited many parts of the Burren, took a trip to Limerick and another to Galway where we saw a wonderful show of traditional Irish music and dancing. Joe is a very friendly and helpful host. Our holiday was great, I would 100% recommend staying here.

  • "The owner, Pat Morrissey could not have been nicer."

He even provided basic foods and drinks for us on our late arrival (tea, coffee, milk, bread, butter, etc.). The cottage suited our needs perfectly - 5 adults and 2 little children. Very peaceful and quiet on small side road with nice panoramic views of the Atlantic Ovean and farm fields all around us.

We wanted a base in Co. Clare from where we could explore the rest of the county. It was the perfect location. The host couldn't do enough for us. I highly recommend this cottage for hire. Thanks!

Plenty of space for everyone. Also a good location, easy access to the many wonderful attractions of Clare. Joe, the owner could not be more helpful.

  • "A large property - great for not feeling on top of each other."

Ideal for a large group of golfers wanting to explore nearby courses. Very quite, inland, rural environment - a car is essential for reaching the nearest shop, bar or beach. Lovely waking up to the gentle mooing of cows in nearby fields / or to see the horses in the stables next door. Joe the owner is lovely, warm and welcoming. A care package of essential food stuffs was left waiting for us so there was no frantic rush to find the nearest open shop. Great to arrive at a property that actually has toilet roll in situ as opposed to some properties who give no thought to their guests nor have a desire for repeat custom.
