Great beaches and wonderful stone circles. The jacuzzi bath doesn't work but that really didn't matter because the house znd gardens are fabulous.

  • "Thoroughly enjoyed our stay at Bluebell house."

Very spacious hse and fabulous garden. We were very lucky with the weather which in Ireland is a bonus. We loved Barleycove beach which is near Mizen Head. We loved Skull. Lovely harbour and walked the coastal route as far as the buriel ground. There is also a viewing point which u can drive to from the town. We also visited Goleen Skibereen Clonakilty. We have been in Cork before so we stayed close by. Ballydehob small village. Not too many eating places. Would recommend Baile Bia but its a chipper and not a restaurant as we led to believe. We ate whenever we were out. The Church in Skibbereen was good. Also cooked in the house. There were 11 adults and 3 children. Would def recommend this house.

Thanks for the positive review and information that I presume will be helpful to other visitors to the area. Property Owner

Space is fantastic too. House is very comfortable, great for big families. The views from the balcony is just surreal. The owner fitted a toddler gate for us, really made such a difference to the holiday with peace of mind for our son to run around the house. Location of the house is great very close to ballydehob and for exploring West Cork. Loved every day there. Hopefully will return in the near future

  • "We went with rather low expectations, due partly to the low price."

However, the property proved to be absolutely fantastic - 6 large and comfortable bedrooms (5 ensuite), plus a smaller one, plus a bathroom. Two very comfortable lounges and a very nice, large and well-appointed kitchen. We found the property immaculately clean throughout. Outside, the grounds were absolutely vast, which was great for the dog, a large balcony and a patio with barbecue (on which we were able to cook some delicious products purchased at local butchers). If we were to be given a free week, we would be pleased to return to do some weeding - it would be a terrible shame if the gardens were allowed to deteriorate any further. Perhaps the owner might like to consider raising his prices and hiring a gardener :-)

The property was delightful in every way, spotlessly clean, wonderfully equipped and exquisitely designed accommodation spanning three floors. The grounds, extending to a little over three acres, were beautifully landscaped boasting a vast variety of plants, shrubs, trees spread throughout expansive lawns. Different areas of the gardens were designed to showcase different environments ranging from rose gardens to Japanese gardens complete with water features and ornamental ponds. All of the above set against a breath taking backdrop. Simply sublime. We hope to return some day. The location was just perfect for a family getaway. The large amount bedrooms enabled the whole family to spread out meaning we only came together when we wanted to. The house has seven bedrooms, five with en-suite. There is also a large family bathroom for the remaining two rooms. There is two lounges with plenty of chairs and each with a large flat screen telly. The large gardens are very well kept and have a few small trails through them. The cleanliness and maintenance of the house was top notch and we could not fault anything. Liam the owner met us upon arrival and gave us a briefing on the functioning of the house, but there is also a house manual should you not be able to take all in from the briefing. Great to have the option to eat outside with a large table on the deck and another in the garden by the bbq. A lovely place to stay; Ballydehob is lovely, Schull just gorgeous and both within a easy car drive. The rooms are spacious and ample options to decide who goes where with double ans single beds. We were not short with anything in the kitchen, but the ceramic hob layout was not great to put multiple pots and pans on. To cook for up to 14 people is already a challenge on its own. • "Great communication between ourselves and Liam, he was very helpful both on the phone and on our arrival."

Sadly, all three ladies expected a hairdryer to be available, so didn’t bring one. Liam said he would try to get one to us, but was unable to do so. The moral of the story ladies is please take your own hairdryer it’s less stressful! One other thing to take into account, it’s a big place to heat, the oil and electricity are metered, so the extra cost should be thought about. Remember that Ireland doesn’t have a postcode system like ours so sat nav is useful. I would also take a OS map too as it gives you a better view when planning journeys. The coastline is fantastic, we found isolated beaches for the 20 month old twins to run around on within 30 minutes of the house. We loved the place, the gardens are well stocked and a work in progress. The creaking floor in the room off the kitchen became a game, trying to cross it quietly at night! Love the fact that the hot water has a circulation loop so hot water is instant at any point, as long as you switch the pump on (downstairs in the basement).

  • "This was a lovely house in a lovely setting, the rooms were comfortable and to a high standard."

The gardens were lovely, well maintained and attracted a variety of wild birds, the Veranda was lovely to sit out on of an evening. The owner, Liam met us at the beginning of the let and explained the operation of the the heating etc, everything worked as advised and we had no issues at all during the week. Although Balleydehob isn't too far away walking the last section of the road is not really an option, no pavements and the N71 is a busy main road, anyone considering using the pubs and Restaurants in the village would have to consider a "designated driver" or local taxis. Another point to remember for anyone hiring the house is that heating and electricity are not included in the price of the hire, we had hot water and heating on as we needed it and it was well covered by the 200 euro deposit we left at the beginning of the let. We will most probably return to this house at some time in the future, highly recommended.
