It was clean and the beds were very comfortable and fresh. The owner was very friendly and helpful The only let down was the lack of WiFi

  • "A comfortable, clean house in a good location."

Lovely view across the estuary, only 20 minutes walk into town. The crockery and glassware was bit lacking, i.e. lots had plates and cups had chips, no sets of matching glasses, but somehow :-) we managed to drink some wine and beer. The cooker felt a little dated, the hot plates took a while to warm up and then slow to cool if you wanted to adjust the temperature. The oven didn't seem to have any control over the temperature at all. The arrangement over the electric seemed like a black art, but it just cost us 5 euro so we were happy with that.

  • "The apartment had a lovely view and was clean and neat."

The ad however failed to mention that the owner who attended check in to provide the key said that if we used over a certain amount of electricity we would lose some of our 50 euro deposit. When we were paying well over 500 pounds (not even euros) a night this is unreasonable. At check out we were told that we went over the allowed amount of electricity but we wouldn’t be charged. For a family of five who took standard showers, used the dishwasher and did two loads of washing I have no idea what the expected electricity usage was. I wouldn’t stay there again but choose somewhere without the added surprise surcharge.

  • "The house is beautifully situated on the Kenmare River with stunning views."

The orientation is also fantastic with paved patios round the house availing of east, south and west sunshine for outdoor eating throughout the day. The description could emphasise this a bit more. The exterior is in need of decoration. The interior space is generous, well maintained complete with all normal equipment and was very clean. Minor items of repair were addressed promptly with very attentive service. We strongly recommend this house.

  • "This is a spacious and comfortable house in a truly fabulous location (better than the pictures)."

Maybe the house itself could do with a bit of a facelift, but it made no difference to our holiday. The owner was very helpful. Although there is no wi-fi in the house the mobile phone signal was good.

  • "Property was rather disappointing."

Basic, functional but lacking in feel good factor. The property owner is a very nice fella but is oblivious to the standards expected by customers in the holiday rental market and compared to other properties we’ve experienced. Property was a bit shabby, some cleanliness issues and the equipment largely outdated. No Wi-Fi really! Property needs redecorating inside and out plus contents upgraded. Nevertheless we still enjoyed our stay in Kenmare - a perfect location.

  • "This proerty is located in a beautiful location and has ample parking and view which really do not get better, however although the house its self does need some TLC it was not that clean either as most windows had cobwebs in them."

A deposit was also required on arrival which is not a problem and pretty standard, however this monies is off set against the electric used. we didn't have any heating on at all during our stay and spent all day out and most of the evening but still cost us some of the deposit although. I suggest anyone visiting this property to be awear of this as the showers and heating are all electric. This property could be stunning. Dave

  • "Disgusting cheap bed linen."

Duvets & pillows stank in the main room so much so I thought I would throw up on the first night. Went out & bought my own pillows the next day. House needs a good clean & paint. Windows were filthy on the outside & covered in cobwebs. Cobwebs inside in corners. Freezing cold. It’s such a beautiful setting & the house is well equipped. I am surprised you lend your name to such uncleanliness. My travelling companion runs a holiday let in Scotland…she was shocked.at the lack of care.

  • "A great positioning of a really nice property, lovely view, very private and quiet and within walking distance to Kenmare which offers dining and local entertainment."

The area is one of the best places to visit in Co. Kerry, well known for its mountainous region with access to the estuary at Templenoe just a short drive away. The property has 3 bedrooms with comfortable beds and very nice bedding. There are 3 w.c.’s which were very useful with 5 adults and a small child, along with a shower and separate bathroom. The house was fully fitted out to accommodate our family. There is an open fire and night storage heating. There is a small garden to the rear and driveway to the front. The owner Mr Peter Poff was extremely pleasant and accommodating explaining everything fully before leaving.

The photos don’t do the views justice , it is absolutely stunning and ever changing. The cottage is conveniently placed for exploring the area and we were continually amazed by the beauty of the landscapes. The house is warm and comfortable and Mr Poff made us extremely welcome. Kenmare has wonderful shops and restaurants. It would have been an added bonus to have internet access but other than that the house was perfect. We will definitely return.

  • "The holiday cottage was an excellent location for touring Kerry."

So glad we chose Kenmare as this is a lovely little town with lots going on in the evenings and nice shops and cafes in the day. The cottage was clean and comfortable and on the whole had everything needed for the week. The owner came to meet us late at night when we arrived to see us in (which we had agreed and arranged beforehand) and checked all was going well during the week. The cottage had lovely view over the lake. I would give it 10/10 except for a minor thing. I was disappointed to find on arrival that there was not a pint of milk in the fridge or any sort of welcome tray. I have stayed in holiday cottages for the past 25 years and I think this is probably the first one that I have arrived at and not found milk and some sort of tea tray (maybe I have just been lucky in the past?), so as we arrived late there was not a cup of tea until after we had been shopping on the Sunday :-(. As I say a very small thing, but it is sometimes the little extra touches that make the difference.... I would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone.

Ate a couple of times in PF McCarthy - all food excellent! The view from the cottage is fantastic and we were lucky to have wonderful weather and sit out. Cottage is roomy, has very comfy beds and everything we needed. I suppose Wi-fi would be nice, but managed with data roaming now same as home use in Ireland. The countryside is stunning everywhere. Particularly loved Derrynane beach which has it all - huge, fine sand, islands out of sea including one to walk to at low tide, rock formations in sand, dunes, walks, waves, mountain views and Daniel O'Connell's house to visit (didn't try it as weather too good). Also loved Blue Pool Ferry to Garnish Island and visiting the Botannic gardens there. A wonderful holiday.
