  • "It was an awful experience."

From the listing information to the engagement from the Sykes cottages staffs and the host herself was nothing to talk about. Should I say we were treated awful because we are blacks or is it just their way of treating people. The cushions and blankets smells awful, the bar was dirty not clean, the room mattresses and sheets were awful and the worst of all the water supply is pumped. Therefore, you all can't have a shower at a go which means you have to take turns. And when we complained it was disastrous. Overall, it wasn't an holiday we went for it was a war. If not for the kids and the ferry that we've booked in advance we won't last days there. You know the feeling that your home is better than the holiday you paid a fortune for. That's how we felt and the host was like she rented the place cheap to us as if we were given some kind of discount. We paid the amount advertised on the website without any discount so how is it cheap?. To top it up it's in the middle of no where, literally nothing exciting for the kids to do.

if there was an option to review guests here yours would match what you wrote and worse. these people booked and didn't go when they booked for they wanted a extra night free they rang me screaming down the phone and I had someone go straight over they where was above there numbers that was booked.the cleaner checked the complaints on the night and nothing was wrong. all bedding was bought new in may and sofas where all clean and blankets are changed on every clean on the sofa to keep it clean. they photos show it's in country when bookings and all the kids seemed to enjoy the playground because they where hardly inside and out of 7 days you left the house once so it couldn't of been that bad when you didn't go off to explore the wonderful joys Donegal has to offer including the play centre 10mins drive away. And I'm not racist I just treat people they way they treat me and you spoke to me like dirt on your shoe Property Owner

  • "The property was excellent."

It had everything we needed. Plenty of bedrooms and bathrooms, very clean and tidy. Excellent property if you have kids - the play area was used alot and the property itself is a short drive to Downings beach. Shops, pharmacies etc within close range too. If we return next year, we will be booking this property if available. Its quiet, excellent views and just perfect for a large family get away.
