  • "House overall was just okay."

Definitely rough round the edges as others had commented. Spacious with a comfy sofa and good TV. Decent WIFI. For the price we expected better. Bathroom upstairs had a foul smell, cracked paint, lino floor lifting. Beds were rock hard, the worst we've had anywhere. Microwave was dirty. Cutlery drawer all crumbs, and cupboard doors haven't seen water in a while. Floor soaking wet on arrival. Would not recommend or return. Booking experience was also a nightmare, extremely difficult to get a response when we were trying to pay the remaining balance. Took days to resolve and whoever we dealt with was unpleasant and unapologetic.

Hi there Thank you very much for bringing these problems to my attention. The smell in the bathroom was due to previous guests removing the shower trap, this has now been replaced and there is absolutely no smell. The bathroom lino has also.been fixed. All three double bed mattresses have been replaced with expensive ones, which are extremely comfortable. The microwave, cutlery drawer and cupboards have all been deep cleaned. The cottage will be getting fully painted before December. I am sorry that you had such a bad booking experience but you didn't book directly with me. This would be an issue to address with Syke's/Hogan's Cottages. Property Owner

About the location

RATHMULLAN, COUNTY DONEGAL

Letterkenny 15 miles.

Nestled on the shore of Lough Swilly on the Fanad Peninsula, the quaint village of Rathmullan has a colourful history. It was from here that the last of the Celtic chieftains fled Ireland, now known as the Flight of the Earls, and there is an interesting heritage centre in the village commemorating this vital event in Ireland’s history. This sleepy seaside village offers a variety of local shops and pubs and a long sandy beach ideal for lazy days. The Fanad Peninsula is a haven for walkers, hikers and nature enthusiasts, and boasts a stunning coastline. The summer ferry crosses Lough Swilly to Buncrana, opening up Inishowen and beyond, and it’s only a short distance to the town of Letterkenny.
