"In terms of location, this is well located."
You can walk down to the Lough, we swam most mornings. The views and setting are lovely, green and peaceful. They nearest town, Ballinrobe, is around 10 mins away and you have everything you need to cope there. The directions given prior to arrival were incorrect and took us to a different property around 300m short of where we needed to go. This did cause some anxiety at 9 in the evening after a long drive. In terms of facilities, you have everything you need. It doesn't help that the cooker had no legible numbers on it. The internet is limited, forgeting the network on your phone and reconnecting helps with that. There are things like a washing machine, airers and a washing line. There was no guide for the hot water, we had to work it out for ourselves. In terms of comfort, the furniture was ancient and impractical. The sofas in the living room weren't very comfortable to sit on so we didn't spend much time in there. The curtains didn't seem to match in any room, meaning the place didn't feel very relaxing/homely to stay in. Overall, I would suggest staying here after the property has had a healthy amount of work. It was well situated to enjoy our time around counties Galway and Mayo. So much great stuff to explore and enjoy around there. Otherwise, we spent good money on hiring this property, it did not represent value for money.

"We arrived after 5pm and found 4 people "cleaning" in the cottage."
We then just put our luggage in a corner and drove to the supermarket. When we came back after 1 hour there was no one left and the cottage was still dirty. Used dishes, crumbs, leftover food in the dishwasher, mold stains in the kitchen drawers, hair in the showers, cobwebs and layers of dust everywhere. The stove is black with old grease and sticks everywhere. This is by far the dirtiest house I've ever vacationed in. No information folder, the wifi was only activated on request and is limited to 20GB. The oil tank in the chamber stinks extremely and you are afraid that the house will be blown up at any moment. Not only, but especially in times of a pandemic, hygiene is essential The indifference with which this house is looked after is shocking. It's incredibly disgusting and I don't recommend anyone planning a vacation here.
