"The cottage is cosy and provided with nearly everything you might need."
As heating and electricity are included, it is possible to heat the rooms to feel comfortable when it's cold outside. The bathroom is a bit of a problem though, as it feels damp even when heated. We were not happy about the beds either and felt they could need updating. But apart from that, we had a great week and enjoyed the awesome views and the sea just a few metres in front of the window.

"Suggest a proper name sign outside the cottage to make it obvious to find?"
-
"I nearly lost my breath when I saw it and the living room view was spectacular."
Mr. Keane the owner stopped by to check on me and was so very nice. I sincerely hope to stay again in the near future as it was absolutely what I needed for a retreat. One of my favorite amenities was the heater in bathroom and second had to be fireplace.

"My wife and I very much enjoyed our stay at Ti Sheamuis."
The cottage was cosy, clean and well-equipped. The area was very peaceful and quiet. We loved the views across the water to Roundstone. We used the wood burning stove a few times. The cottage was in a great location for touring Connemara and County Galway

"We really enjoyed our stay at Tì Sheamus ."
The cottage was very clean and well equipped. The views from the cottage was fantastic . Sitting in the cottage watching the sunsets was beautiful. You definitely need a car to get around , roads are to dangerous to walk on. Loved Tì Sheamus and connemara will definitely be back.

"Lovely cottage in a beautiful scenic area overlooking the sea."
Great facilities including fast broadband. A great base for touring Connemara. The house is also well equipped to cope with winter weather.

"A lovely clean and comfortable cottage with amazing views."
An ideal base to explore the beautiful connemara and county Galway countryside and coast.

"We really enjoyed our stay at the cottage."
The location is so wonderful, with the nearness to the sea, the view of the mountains, the stillness - yet the easy drive to get to many of the places to visit in Connemara. The cottage was comfortable and reasonably equipped . The wood burning stove looked very inviting - our weather was thankfully too good to need to make use of it. Communication was easy and everything went smoothly.

"Lovely location Very well equipped."
Views outstanding. Comfy sitting room. We found the directions to the property clear and we had no issues finding it. Clifden is the nearest town and there is everything you need there.

The house owner Mr Keane was most helpful. A great place to relax, and unwind.

"Directions to the cottage are not really accurate and contain information that is incorrect."
Otherwise the house was comfortable, very well equipped, and in a beautiful part of Connemara. The owners were readily available in case of any difficulties.

"A genuine pearl in the middle of the Irish 'Wild West', the centre of the Gaelic language area - sea food, salmon and trout fishing, hiking, hunting; and the kindest of people."

"Fabulous!!!"
If you want piece and quiet to get away from it all this is the place to go!! The accommodation was perfect with the most beautiful surroundings, well equipped with everything you need to relax and enjoy the West of Ireland. A 5 minute walk to a local bar that serves the best fish chowder I’ve had. Just up the road past Roundstone has 2 amazing beaches ( Dogs Bay & Gurteen Bay ) You’re also in the shadows of the most breathtaking views of the mountains of Connemara. If you book for 1 day or even 10 days you won’t be let down!!

"Very helpful and friendly hosts!"
Great house to relax in and enjoy the scenic seascapes and mountains. 10 minutes to the shop and post office nearby in Carna.

"Ti Sheamuis is a lovely cottage right by the coast, warm and cosy with all the creature comforts needed to make spending Christmas here a real treat."
I arrived a little earlier than our arranged time but the landlord was really helpful and came straight over to let me in. We really enjoyed our time here. It is in a great location with a pub/restaurant within walking distance and some really pretty beaches near by. I would highly recommend a stay here for a nice relaxing holiday.

"Had a wonderful holisay."
The cottage is really great and ideal for 2 couples. Very comfortable and right in the middle of the beautiful Connemara countryside. The one negative thing I have to say and that is why I didn't give full marks for the accuracy listing is that putting " Cashel" on the address really confused us. We took the oad which was signposted "Cashel" and spent over an hour going up and down it, taking the little roads going off it and never finding the cottage. I eventually got through to the owner , as the phone kept breaking up, who kindly put us on the right track. The cottage is nearer to Carna and that is where I should have headed to and not Cashel. Probably the address is fine if you have a satellite system but we didn't. Anyway, apart from that it was an immensely enjoyable week

Sea view. Need a car.

"Had friends come to visit while we were there."
They were very impressed and asked us for your contact details. So have already made a couple of recommendations.
-
"Tricky to find as distances are wrong, but lovely location."
We saw an otter and a porpoise from the lounge window. Also had a couple of visits from a hare. Really enjoyed our stay.
-
"Set only a few yards from the sea, this cottage has a magnificent view over the sea and of the twelve Bens, possibly the best view of anywhere we have ever stayed."
The cottage has ample parking and is very well equipped. The owner, Mr Keane pops in shortly after your arrival to make sure everything is OK for you. I recommend visiting Kylemore Abbey and Padraig Pearse's cottage and visitor centre. Also do take the coastal drive tto Clifden via Roundstone and the Sky Road Loop from Clifden. We had a lovely holiday in a beautiful area, and would highly recommend a stay at Ti Sheamuis

"Lovely except one bad experience with the locals"
-
"The cottage was in a wonderful location with a wonderful view at the sea from the sitting and bed room, spacious, perfectly equipped and more (extra bed covers, masses of towels, excellent pots and pans, nothing was missing) We had difficulties finding it (although the owner had given us very detailed directions, definitely our fault) but he was kind enough to come out and help us on the last bit of the way."
We certainly want to come back and for a week next time. Perfect, could not have been better.

About the location
CARNA, COUNTY GALWAY
Clifden 23 miles; Galway 49 miles.
The small, quiet village of Carna in the heart of the Irish-speaking area of Connemara Gaeltacht, is set on the shores of Galway Bay, overlooking Galway Harbour, in the scenic region of Connemara. Carna is noted for its traditional Irish music and singing, and music sessions are held weekly in the local pubs and hotel. For walkers, runners, cyclists and hillwalkers, the area provides opportunities unrivalled for their tranquillity and scenery. The quiet roads leading to Mweenish Island and the local coves are ideal for family cycling. Lying off the coast of Carna is St. MacDara's Island, a site of pilgrimage and mass held on 16th July each year. The famous sailing crafts, the 'Galway Hookers' were made in Carna, as well as a small boat called the Currach, and the area is well known for the skilled boat-makers who crafted them. There are still some working examples of the 'Galway Hooker' moored at Mweenish Island and Cashel Bay and 'hooker' regattas are held throughout July and August. It is also possible to book a day trip on a local 'hooker'. There is great fishing in the area with many working piers providing an ideal place for lobster, crab and mackerel fishing, while Connemara National Park, home to the famous Connemara Pony and Kylemore Abbey are both within easy reach, providing great days out for all the family.
