  • "Need to trim Bush around the entrance, so you can see the house name."

Thanks so much for your great feedback. I am delighted you enjoyed your visit. I appreciate your helpful comment on the foliage covering the house name. Ordinarily the gardener cuts this back. I will ensure that this is done. Thanks million. Property Owner

  • "What a wonderful place, would recommend to anyone."

A delightfully homely well-appointed cottage - beautifully decorated and furnished, fresh white linen, books, an open fire and wood burner in the kitchen. What more could you ask for? Deer in the backyard, Nell the horse over the fence, and a short walk to the spectacular scenery of Dunloe and the delights of Kate Kearneys Cottage (fantastic fare) and Moriaty's shop (beautiful clothing and gifts). We were very sad to leave and will definitely return one day.

Hi there Murray, thanks so much for your wonderful feedback. I am so happy you had a great time in the Gap of Dunloe and enjoyed the surrounding country side and hospitality. We are very lucky to have so much on the door step by way of nature and bars and food and music . Thank you for being wonderful guests and please do come back again. Property Owner

It is in a brilliant location, within walking distance of the truly stunning Gap of Dunloe and a 15 minute car journey to Cronin's Yard which is a starting point to climb the highest mountain in Ireland with breathtaking views. It is also a 15 minute car journey to Tomies Wood, which has a lovely walk to O'Sullivans Cascade, a magical waterfall on the edge of Lough Leane. The cottage was comfortable and relaxing with the advantage of front and back gardens to sit out in. There is so much to see and enjoy that a week was not long enough!

(Mother, Father and two young children). The accommodation was excellent, spacious and comfortable. The peace and tranquility was even better than expected. The children loved the visiting horses every morning. Approximately 6 miles outside Killarney was no issue and the accommodation was only half a mile from the Gap of Dunloe. Ballybunion, Tralee, Dingle, Kenmare, Sneem, all visited during holiday. Brilliant time had by all

  • "Rowantree is a lovely warm clean cottage located to give you a quiet and safe retreat while being in a prime location to explore Killarney National Park, the Gap of Dunloe, ring of Kerry and Dingle."

We walked to the Gap a couple of times and couldnt get enough of the scenery and the unique mystery of the mountain and valley setting. The time at home after exploring was comfortable - sheets and towels superb, comfortable bed, good kitchen facilities for cooking your own meal and quality furnishings. The house was uncluttered and had nice touches such as good reading lamps in the lounge and bedrooms, an open fire - we didn’t need as heating system was excellent (late October), a TV with good reception and excellent wifi and a second toilet in the house.

  • "We LOVE visiting Killarney!"

Rowantree was a quaint little cottage not fair from the Gap of Dunloe. In the morning, you could open your bedroom windows and face the majestic mountains of Kerry. It was close enough to pubs and shops but a little bit out of the city which worked perfectly for us. I will definitely plan on visiting Rowantree again in the future, maybe during summer! :)

We stayed for a week in October and the house was warm and cosy. All was clean and sufficient. The garden looks very inviting, but it was too cold to sit in it. Some horses from the neighbouring property visited by the fence and even some small deer did. It was a pleasant stay.

  • "Our stay at the Rowantree cottage could not have been better."

Located perfectly in the Gap of Dunloe, within the Ring of Kerry and a stone throw away from the nicest attractions in county Kerry. The host Ellen is helpful and kind. We had all the necessities we required in the cottage, an equipped kitchen with dishwasher, a washing machine and a dryer. There is a nice wooden bench is the front garden surrounded by trees and bushes and there is another wooden bench at the back garden overlooking a large field, regularly visited by deer, horses and wild rabbit. I was told that this is also visited by a beaver, but we were not so lucky to see it. We were 6 adults and a child. 2 comfy double bedrooms and another triple bedroom, all with large windows overlooking the front or back garden. My kid spent hours at the window, enjoying the wildlife and views. Will definitely recommend this cottage.
