  • "Excellent property, descent location."

My family and I were very comfortable for the week we stayed.

  • "Very comfortable house and beds and very clean."

Few maintenance issues with the hot water but that was out of their control and they fixed it as soon as they could get a plumber in. We couldnt connect to the wifi but the connection up there is strong so we were able to use our phones so that wasnt a problem for us. As other reviews said theres no microwave so if you have baby food etc that might be an issue and theres no airer, although there is a drier which we had to use daily because of the weather, an airer could have been a more economic option and we could have left to dry naturally while we were out for the day instead of having to use the drier in the evenings when we got back. Great base for Waterville and the stunning Derrynane beaches (20mins) if you get the weather. All in all a pleasant stay and would come back.

  • "The ability to leave the property to an acceptable standard of cleanliness was difficult due to a lack of suitable cleaning materials."

We did the best we could with a pack of dettox wipes, but some CIF or similar would have been helpful.

All equipment necessary I.e. vacuum cleaner, mop & bucket and cloths are provided. As the house is self catering it is not the responsibility of the homeowner to provide cleaning materials also. Property Owner

  • "A lovely house in a great location, very comfortable, spotlessly clean and well kept, good furnishings and fittings, particularly great showers!"

Bernie who gave us the keys was lovely and very helpful. No significant negatives, it was quite expensive (but I think everywhere is!) and it lacked a few minor things - microwave, indoor clothes drying rack (although it has a tumble dryer), maybe a shed for bikes etc.

  • "The house is great, it has everything that you need."

Much more spacious than I had thought it would be from the photographs. The beds and linen were really nice too. The only issue we had with the house was the noise from the water pump and also my hair & my daughters hair turned green from the copper pipes. You could fit a filter to both shower heads upstairs & this would resolve this issue ( my daughter had spent a considerable amount getting her hair highlighted & it took a lot of treatment to get the copper out) Only item I felt that was missing was an outdoor tap to rinse wetsuits etc.

  • "We had a pleasant stay at Fraoch."

It’s a good base for visiting County Kerry which is stunning. The garden is peaceful with birds and the occasional hare. But there were a few points of concern. The electrical sockets for the TV were faulty so we had to find another way to watch TV. The owner said she would get an electrician to look at it on the changeover day. About twice daily we had a deafening noise from the water tank in the roof when filling up so you may want to avoid flushing in the night. The owner said it was ok and nothing to worry about but it doesn’t make for a completely restful stay. You may need to know that there’s no microwave. Also you may want to bring your own hairdryer as one isn’t provided.

  • "Just returned from Paradise!"

Fraoch is a dream house. You have not rated this property high enough in your description of the property. From the setting of the house to the whole layout and furnishing of same it is so beautiful. Each and every detail - from the curtains, bedlinen, towels everything is top class and beautiful. Seven of us stayed in the house and it was so spacious. Furnished to the highest standard there was nothing more we could have asked for or needed. Actually I have come home with some great renovation ideas for my own home. I will definitely be booking this property again sooner rather than later. My very highest compliments to the owners - you have impeccable taste.

  • "It was in a great location."

Bernie was excellent. The place was so clean and everything we needed was there and more. I don't think the pictures do the cottage justice. It's in a stunning location and so spacious, close enough to amenities but far enough away to have a sense of tranquility as well away from the hustle and bustle of every day life. We will certainly be back.

  • "This house was in a very peaceful, scenic setting in the hills just outside Waterville."

It was a great base for exploring the Ring of Kerry, Valentia Island, The Skelligs, local Blue Flag beaches and other outdoor activities. It would only be suitable for visitors with their own transport.
