  • "We spent a pleasant week at Annie’s Cottage, where everyone was comfortable and had plenty of room."

The kitchen was well supplied with equipment, and the house had a traditional cottage feel, with a thatched room and a very pretty garden. It was rural enough for peace and quiet but close enough for local amenities. About 30 mins drive from Westport and 10 mins from Castlebar. Tuffys pub across the road was great for a Guinness. Our hosts were very kind and welcoming leaving us eggs and wood for the fire which we lit at night.

The cottage benefits from two stylish kitchens, each with French doors; they provide an ideal place for you to prepare and cook a delicious meal for your loved ones.

The main sitting room features a woodburning stove, which you can curl up beside and enjoy some quality time over a bottle of wine with friends.

For a spot of downtime, there are two additional sitting rooms where you can relax with a good book or the local paper after a jam-packed day of adventure.

As you step outside, you will find a large garden with mature trees and patio areas with furniture, and to the front of the cottage, in the neighbouring field, are the ruins of a tower house!

The village of Belcarra boasts a local shop and pub, along with a riverside loop walk, which takes you along the Manulla River, a tributary of the River Moy.

Just a short drive will take you to Castlebar, home to excellent shopping and a wide variety of pubs and eateries.

The popular harbour town of Westport is also close by, home to Croagh Patrick, the Greenway Cycle route, craft shops and traditional Irish music.
