Some milk and buns in the fridge for us on arrival.Nice touch, the little things makes the difference.. ALSO I love the smell of peat, and although we only lit the fire once, again it was much appreciated having the peat. Regards Alan Jamison

The turf stove is a lovely homely touch. Beds comfy and Martin the owner made us feel very at home. The views are stunning from the cottage right up into mountains

"Lovely property in quiet area only 15 mins drive from Castlebar."
Was myself, teenage daughter and OAP parents. House was great for our needs with 2 x double bedrooms and 1 x twin. The owner was great called in first night to check everyone ok and show us how to use the turf burning range which was great. Great location for a quiet break and great base to explore Mayo from.

To the north of Castlebar lies the striking 13th century Ballintubber Abbey, an important sacred Irish historical site, or head to the imposing ruins of Burriscarra Abbey, both providing a fascinating insight into the region’s history.
