  • "The cottage is a great size, in a lovely location, and we really enjoyed exploring Co."

Mayo. There were, however, a few issues that we commented on at the time, that we felt we needed to bring to your attention. - the front door lock sticks, and we struggled to gain access to the property (not a great way to welcome guests), and for the rest of our stay, used the kitchen door - there was no starter pack for the open fire, in spite of the description on your website stating that would be included - the hot water was tepid at best, even when we turned on the booster switch on the boiler. We were therefore unable to have baths, and needed to boil the kettle in order to wash up. - the toilet in the main bathroom did not flush - the blue bin at the gate was full when we arrived, and was not emptied during our stay, so we therefore had to leave our bag of rubbish by the kitchen door - we found food in the freezer, (which was dirty inside) that had left by previous guests We hope that these issues can be speedily rectified for the comfort of future guests, as with some updating this currently tired cottage would be much improved. Maggie & John Mitton

Thank you for your comments , I have addressed them individually . The main problem with the front door will be resolved in January when a new front and back door will be fitted even though they are only six years old. Apologies for the inconvenience caused but I hope it has not spoilt your enjoyment of Achill too much. Regards John Hardiman. Property Owner

  • "Property is as described in pictures and listing is clean and tidy, the view from property is absolutely spectacular in a rural area surrounded by sheep and lots of local wild life including an Irish hare, all in all a very relaxing week was had at the cottage would heartily recommend a stay here to detox from the hustle and bustle of every day life."

One minor negative would be that the information pack needs to be updated as it is sadly lacking on instructions of local attractions places to eat and especially how to use tv, and satellite box.

Thank you very much for your kind comments. I apologise for the lack of local information which has now been addressed , with TV and Sat box information Thank you once again, John Hardiman Property Owner

  • "Overall a great stay."

Positives : location to the beach and shop, great washing machine and dishwasher, well maintained, enclosed garden a big plus when you have a dog, Karen was very friendly when I had to contact her. Some suggested improvements: The shower in the main bedroom really needs to be improved. The water runs either freezing cold or scalding hot. The pressure is very poor. The single beds are very uncomfortable. I was staying there with my friend and I slept in the single bed for the first night and it was very uncomfortable - the mattresses need updating. Some clear instructions about what to do with the bins, fire ashes and bed linen when leaving would be helpful. Maybe update the information booklet in the lounge - a lot of practical information has been removed from it. These are just minor things. Overall a very good property in a great location with excellent proximity to beach, shops and restaurants.

Thank you very much for your feedback, all the matters have been addressed and I appreciate your help in pointing them out. Many Thanks John Hardiman. Property Owner
