The house was beautiful and comfortable if somewhat remote, but for someone who comes from an area of nothing but noise and light pollution as we all do it was heavenly If I arrange another golf trip to that area of Ireland rest assured Errit will be my first port of call Marvellous place

  • "This is a wonderful spot for those who like peace and quiet."

The surroundings are beautiful and we could walk the dog from the house without coming into social contact. We found the house to be very comfortable and easy to care for.

  • "The beautiful house which can accommodate up to 15 people and parties, is isolated."

It is really peaceful and has everything you could need, but no wi-fi. We found it perfect for a family holiday where we shared meals, spoke to each other, played board games, went rowing on the lake and generally relaxed and chilled. It was lovely getting up to walk the dog as the sun came up over the lake. Good spot to drive around the West of Ireland and to visit our cousins. If you want peace and quiet it is positively wonderful.

  • "The house was very remote and extremely difficult to locate."

There were no shops, restaurants etc within easy reach of the house and all roads locally were rough and like lanes. The house itself needed a really good clean. We had to wash all plates, cups, glasses and cutlery. Plates and bowls were chipped and cracked. Floors had been cleaned in the centre but along the skirting board edges were filthy. There were spiders webs in almost every corner. The furniture was old and smelled musty.

  • "We had a great time at the house."

Although the house was in a quiet location we loved it. All families had space in the house. The boats were great on the lake. Urlaur Abbey nearby was great for a swim too. The peat briquette for the fire were used too.

  • "The landlord, Dr Cox, has thought of everything."

The house was perfect for us visiting family in the area, but also for a tourist visit. The building actually has more capacity than indicated, and if the group consisted of more couples, or perhaps students, could comfortably host more people. Dr Cox really has thought of everything, with facilities for rowing on the lake (including life jackets!) and a copious assortment of local interest books, maps and guidebooks. A great location for a holiday, for a business get together 'offsite' or as a base for touring the west of Ireland.

  • "The place was lovely and clean and ideal for a large family gathering, although its difficult to find at first, and the water system is not sufficient to cater for a big group of people."

All together , if u were looking for a quite place to unwind, its a perfect haven, we enjoyed our stay there.
