  • "Friendly hosts, available if required."

Great cottage if you want to get away from it all. Surrounded by lots of places to explore and enjoy.

  • "John and Maria were very welcoming and gave us some lovely fresh eggs."

Very comfortable cottage and very quiet. There's no WiFi, but a short drive to Yeats pub for a coffee solved that.

  • "We had a wonderful stay at Hawthorn farm cottage."

....The owners John and Maria are so lovely and friendly and couldn't have done more to make sure that we felt welcome and were comfortable, even letting our little boy spend time with their animals whenever he wanted. We will definitely be back in the future!

The beds was so comfortable top quality. John and Marie are lovely people. They took the children to feed the sheep and gave us lovely organic vegetables. The cottage was stunning outside and lovely views of the woods. We will be returning to this beautiful place again.

  • "We had a wonderful week at Hawthorn Cottage, the owners John and Marie were a lovely couple and always did everything they could to make us feel welcome."

We took trips out every day to some wonderful places, even swimming in the Atlantic sea, but it was always lively to come back to the cottage.

  • "A warning that the tiled floor in the bathroom can be very slippery when having a shower."

One side of all of the beds is hard against the wall which can be a nuisance when 2 are sharing the bed. On the plus side the owner, John, was very friendly, helpful and even provided us with eggs and potatoes. The property is spacious and comfortable.

  • "We had a marvellous week at Hawthorn Cottage."

What a setting! Just perfect for two workaholics in need of a stress-free rest from the world. Plenty of historical, cultural and natural landscape sites to visit within a 30-50 minute drive, and a busy little town just three miles away. Easy half-an-hour's drive from the airport, too. We hope to return for a long-weekend in the autumn.

  • "The house and gardens were like in a fairy-tale and we enjoyed going on the forest walks around the farm."

The hosts were very hospitable and helpful when we needed them. We loved getting organic veggies and geranium and comfrey plants from John. The kids were delighted when he showed us how to herd sheep. We stayed for a week and it still wasn't enough to do everything you can do at the farm. We will definitely come again Thank you John, Maria, and Cho!

Also very central to the whole west coast so every day was an adventure and came home at night to a nice warm cosy kitchen and quite bedroom for a peaceful sleep...lovely views of greenery...appreciated John, and his lovely sheepdog and organic goodies waiting for us and the comfrey plants now growing in my garden :)

  • "A comfortable cottage with all the amenities we could wish for."

The cottage is close to the N17 linking Galway and Sligo (about 30 minutes drive) and set in beautiful countryside. The owner is very friendly and went out of his way to make us feel welcome and ensure we had all we need. I cannot recommend this cottage enough as a base for your holiday in the North West of Ireland. We spent most of our time either in Sligo or around the Wild Atlantic Way, both of which are easily reached by car from the cottage.

  • "Hawthorn Farm Cottage exceeded every one of our expectations on our recent holiday."

The cottage has been thoughtfully renovated with great care and sensitivity to the history of the home. There are many examples of the owners' love the surrounding area displayed throughout the cottage. The furnishings, appliances and room décor were all top notch. The beds were the most comfortable of any we have experienced in our multiple trips to Ireland. The bed linens were of the finest quality too. The surroundings are tranquil. We loved being able to feed the sheep. The owners were attentive and always available, but not intrusive.
