  • "Lovely couple, so friendly and welcoming without being intrusive."

A most enjoyable stay in a cottage with all the facilities and comfort. I couldn't find fault with anything, although a colander in the kitchen would be good (it's ok I improvised!). The state of the art cooker and hob, are quite straight forward, and explained well by Michael on arrival. The path to the holiday cottage which is behind the owners' property, is fully paved, and meanders through an attractive garden that provides total seclusion, so no fear of being overlooked. A great stay in a beautiful part of Co. Waterford, and highly recommended. The otters on view from the bridge over the river at Agherne in Co. Cork were quite a highlight of my stay.

Thank you enjoyed having you to stay , will get a colander ,on our next trip out.,ps.loved your photo's. Welcome anytime. Property Owner

  • "This is a charming, beautiful, comfortable cottage, amongst lovely gardens."

We loved it! But the best part are the hosts, Michael and Ann. They're right next door, and are completely responsive to everything you need. The view of the Knockmealdown Mountains from the upstairs bedroom is stunning. The attention to detail in the construction of the cottage--tiles, wooden floors and ceilings, spacious bedrooms--is wonderful. All of the beds are extremely comfortable, with beautiful quilts and many extra towels. The kitchen is very well equipped, although it would be useful to have written instructions for the state-of-the-art oven and stove, and for the wood stove. On the other hand, Michael is great about coming over and demonstrating. There is electric heat in the bedrooms which are upstairs. But If it happens to be chilly and rainy, you do need to use the wood stove, which will heat up the first floor. The bathroom has a great shower with plenty of hot water, but can be chilly without the wood stove going. If you're older and need to get to the bathroom at night, a little flashlight can be handy, and you can leave a light on downstairs. Michael and Ann are the friendliest hosts you will ever meet. They're great to talk to but not the least bit intrusive, and they have great suggestions for where to go in the area, like the beautiful Dromana House and the seaside village of Dungarvan (where you can often find traditional music sessions.) Cappoquin is five minutes away and has a good supermarket, a drug store, and a bakery/coffee shop.

  • "The cottage is in an ideal location for exploring South East Ireland including Waterford, the Copper coast and Kilkenny."

The cottage, which has its own garden and patio area, is situated behind the property owners house. Parking space is located to the front on the owner’s house. It is a very quiet and peaceful location with views of the mountains and surrounding countryside. The owners were always very friendly and made us welcome. The downstairs of the cottage is a spacious and comfortable open plan lounge/kitchen/dining area, and provides access to a small shower room and toilet. The upstairs sleeping accommodation is more basic. There is a comfortable double bed but springs could be felt on each of the three single beds . Areas of the cottage require a through clean including the shower which would benefit from a deep clean.

They couldn't do enough for us and made our stay very enjoyable. The quaint cottage tucked away in the owners garden made all the more welcoming by the wood burner with the supply of fuel readily available. The cottage is well equipped and spacious. We loved it.

We loved our week there. Wi-fi problematic, which was the only drawback and a problem with the area in general, not the owners. Highly recommended.

  • "Very comfortable and quiet."

Owners helpful but not intrusive. Shower effective despite low water pressure. Needs better directions to find it. We would not have found it without being able to plug the post code into Google Maps. Whoever is responsible should add instructions to turn off the N72 down the L.6067 which is opposite the L.5053 and travel down there for 800 metres where the owner's residence will be the second property on the right. Other road distances would help as would avoiding local knowledge suchas 'the xyz rouundabout'.
