  • "In mid November (2024) we decided to treat ourselves to another self catering holiday in Ireland."

Having thoroughly enjoyed our earlier visit (April 2024) we decided to revisit No. 6 Seanachai. We are very happy to reaffirm and repeat our earlier "review" - the very warm welcome, the well equipped facilities, and the spacious and comfortable accommodation. Truly a home from home. Our sincere thanks to the owner Mr Eugene Fitzpatrick and all concerned. We look forward to our next visit.

  • "Great property in a great, quiet location."

Comfortable beds, everything we needed was there. The owner contacted us prior to arrival and on day of departure wishing us well. The pub a few yards away is closed, maybe the description could be changed? More crockery in the kitchen would be a advantage for bigger parties.

I would like to bring to the attention of the property owner that the house needs some attention as follow, 1) blinds on kitchen window 2) bucket & mop / sweeping brush or a vacuum cleaner 3) some decent cooking utensils / pans / knives etc 4) toilets down stairs / light not working & flushing takes ages to fill & sink is blocked

  • "We had thoroughly enjoyable stay at the cottage."

Very clean with all modern appliances, good location to dungarven town and surrounding areas. Very quiet so always had a good night's sleep. The owner was very helpful and on hand if required although we did not have any need to call him. I would book the cottage again.

  • "A beautiful clean spacious house, loads of room and 3 toilets a really brilliant addition, especially with 3 teens."

Really good location only minutes from Dungarvan and 20 minutes from Youghal. A real pity the Seacachai bar is closed but the Marine bar is only a few minutes away and a real gem. If you stay here a visit is a must. Thank you to Eugene for the use of his house a real gentleman, thank you.

  • "We specifically chose this accommodation for its quiet locality, and with the `An Seanachai pub` a short walk from the front door which would enable us to eat out and have a drink without having to drive."

On arrival we passed the advertised `An Seanachai pub` which to our dismay was derelict, and looked as if it had been in that state for a number of years, therefore, to enjoy a drink with our meal meant cooking at the accommodation. The information provided at the accommodation again highlighted the close proximity of the pub and even included a menu. On inspection of the kitchen facilities, we found the oven to be unusable, when opening the door, the smell of an un-cleaned interior was overwhelming. On inspection of the oven trays we found them to be covered with grease and corrosion and appeared not to have been cleaned for some time. On viewing the saucepans internally, we found them to have large carbon deposits filling the dents on the bottom. It took a considerable amount of cleaning to enable us to use these pans. The three fry-pans provided, personally I would have placed straight in the bin. The microwave was clean and usable. Eating in, was reduced to salads. The remainder of the accommodation was clean and functional. As you can imagine this had a serious effect on the enjoyment of our holiday, and would suggest that this accommodation has been mis-advertised.

The feedback for our cottage has been so positive all year and beyond I really wonder why anybody would really write that type of report ? Property Owner

  • "We have just completed a most enjoyable two week long "self catering" holiday in Ireland."

Via "Hogans/Sykes Holiday Cottages" we rented accommodatiom at No. 6 Seanachai, Pulla, Dungarvan, - a property owned by Mr Eugene Fitzpatrick. We had a great "Irish welcome" from Eugene, - and the property itself was, quite simiply, a real home from home, - clean, well equipped and very spacious. It had all the facilities and comforts anyone could possible require. It was an excellent venue and base to visit the South East of Ireland. Highly recommended. Our many thanks to all concerned, - and we look forward to our next visit. Dewi and Helen (Wales)

Maybe more instructions about the hot water could help as we didn’t realise how to turn it on or that we had to leave it on an hour before using the hot water. But eugene was quick to answer the phone and help us whenever we needed so thank you. Overall a great stay!

Eugene was very helpful with great communication when we required it. The house would benefit from additional glasses and mugs but aside from this we couldn't fault the property.

  • "We really enjoyed our stay at Seanachaí holiday homes."

The house was lovely and clean and very well equipped and perfect for my family of five, Eugene the owner was helpful and very kindly left us Wine on our arrival. Location was ideal with easy access to Dungarven town by car where we had a great choice of restaurants to eat and also we were near some of irelands nicest beaches , Clonea and Ardmore. The Waterford greenway cycle is close by ideal for a cycle with spectacular views and we also enjoyed a day a Fota island about 45 min drive away . I am more than happy to recommend and would gladly stay here again to explore more of the south east coast of Ireland.

6! House is really clean and has everything you will need. I have stayed at another property on site and this was a much cleaner house. So close to beautiful beaches and short drive to both Waterford and Cork. On arrival and departure had a lovely call from the owner wishing us a safe journey which was a lovely touch. Don’t hesitate in booking you will have a brilliant stay!

6, which is a very nice property and well situated near Dungarvan and between Waterford and Cork. The owner was very helpful, including leaving us a welcome voicemail to make sure we had his number if needed and when I had an issue connecting to the Wifi he offered to come to the property to assist although we sorted it easily without. We didn't have any other issues but if there were I'm sure he would have been equally as helpful to rectify. He also made contact at departure to wish us a safe journey. The property is on a small development which was really quiet. Unfortunately the adjacent pub is temporarily closed at the time of our stay but there's a great bar with live local musicians a short walk away down the lane. Ardmore, about 15 min drive away is an amazing beach and has a great cliff top walk. We'd definitely recommend No. 6!

6 An Seanachai. The house is well equipped and situated in a gorgeous spot with stunning vews over the Comeragh Mountains. Eugene is a lovely landlord who took every effort to make us feel welcome and comfortable. We loved the bottle of wine on arrival, and Eugene was very fast to sort things out quickly when minor issues occurred and was generous and very kind. We would definitely book again!

  • "Generally very happy with the house."

The one drawback was the TV channels available. The Saorview was poor with no reception for most of the channels. It may be the fault of the TV itself as there was no Saorview box. I would return to this house in this future.

  • "When I first saw the house I thought it looked very shabby and in need of painting outside certainly not like the photograph on the website."

Inside was a little better but we noticed there was no washing up liquid only one teacloth . The wash hand basin upstairs is blocked as it is very slow to empty and the downstairs wash hand basin is also broken not attached to the base. The television reception was very poor as was internet connection. We did have a lovely holiday but were disappointed in our accommodation which was not cheap.

The house was beautiful and exceptionally spacious. It offered all the comforts of a home away from home. (Needs a tin opener). We were very impressed by their being hand soap, tea towels, dishwasher tablets etc. Would have been nice to arrive to a warm house but the heating was good once up to speed.
