  • "We had a great week at Seafield."

The house was perfect for our two families and dog who enjoyed playing in the secure garden. Amazing location, and the house was fully equipped with everything we could need. Jacuzzi and sauna were an added treat. Peter the host was so helpful and on hand to help with any queries about the house or surrounding area. I would definitely recommend for a holiday in Ballymoney.

I wish to thank you for your review and we re delighted you were happy here. Quirks and all you get with a 35 year old house were embraced by you and thank you so much for the review. People who have Dogs are usually the best people in the world and as you know we love dogs here. Again a great pleasure to meet you all. New deck area - for next year The squished Sofas will remain as they are dog proof. Hope we ll see you again. Regards Peter Property Owner

  • "We have just returned home after a fab week in Seafield."

This property ticked every box for us, great safe holiday home for a family with young children and a dog. It is an enclosed property so we felt our grandchildren were very safe as they enjoyed having fun in the garden. As it was enclosed and in a gated community it was also ideal for our dog, he made some lovely friends when we walked him with other dogs living in the community. I was able to walk to a lovely beach for my daily swim with the added bonus of lifeguards. Peter was very welcoming and offered great advice and information on the area. We really enjoyed our stay in this lovely holiday home.

Thank you for going to the trouble to write a review so often we only ever review when something’s gone wrong ! Really appreciate you coming here and again thank you. Archie the fluffy white dog up the road is still looking for your dog ! And still barking at me ! Despite the two bags of treats I ve given him. Thank You Property Owner

  • "As the property can accommodate large families, you’re not on “Top” of each other as the house has lots of quiet corners to read a book or magazine."

It’s closeness to the sea is another bonus.

  • "On our arrival, we were very impressed with the outside of Seafield, it looked like a very nice house in an excellent location."

Our first impression soon turned to dismay on entering the house. The house was not very clean with cobwebs and grubby carpets. The toilets were a disaster, the toilet in the ensuite on the first floor would not flush Peter, who was present to hand over the key and show us around said that it needed pumping up by pressing the flush several times! needless to say, this did not work and a plumber was called. The toilet in the en-suite on the ground floor leaked heavily from the main pipe between the cistern and the toilet bowl leaked heavily and Peter had to carry out an urgent repair. The problems continued when the toilet in the bathroom between the kitchen and the washroom was found to also leak badly and we were told not to use it until a plumber could come to repair it in seven days. This meant that we would not be able to use it for the duration of our stay. The two sofas in the lounge had both seen better days and we had to use pillows from the spare beds to make them comfortable enough to sit on. The beds in the ground floor bedrooms all needed new mattresses. There wasn't a thermostat on the boiler which could only be ignited by advancing it for one hour at a time with no temperature which meant that the radiators became very hot. The problems continued, the decking in the garden looked very old with broken boards and nails showing, the bath was badly cracked, and the jacuzzi took hours to fill from a combination of the hot water tank and immersion heater and then would not work. What a pity that such an impressive property in a lovely location has been allowed to deteriorate so badly due to an apparent lack of care and maintenance. I can assume that the property had not been inspected by Sykes for some time as it would not be listed for rent.

Hello I'm sorry you were disappointed - and yes there was a plumbing mishap - which we understood was fixed but alas you didn't let us know. Its a 33 year old house these things happen. Plumbers are rare animals indeed and one did come out 24 hours after you told me of problem was still there. I have all of the whatsapps on my phone. We re very disappointed you are disappointed. Alas we've been doing this a long time. The bath was not cracked ! The side panel is - at the bottom - doesn’t cause a problem with the bath The jacuzzi is used and loved by everyone that comes here and is in perfect order. The heating is for winter and for heating water for jacuzzi. I could have turned off the rads or lowered them if I d been asked. The couches - are leather hand made and are squishy as they were designed to be. Again we Re sorry you found them uncomfortable. Please note we've had no reviews like yours before but do take all you say on board. Regards Peter Harte Property Owner

  • "Great hose in a great location with a fantastic host."

The strawberries and wine waiting for us on arrival was a lovely treat. Peter, the owner, gave us recommendations for places to eat which were good. He also pointed us in the direction of places to go and see, which was much appreciated. We were spoilt with the 3 choices of beaches at the end of the gated laneway. The only slight mark down we would have is the decking is in real need of repair, which on arrival, Peter did warn us about. A most relaxing and enjoyable holiday was had by all the family and even Pebbles, our dog. I would 100% recommend a stay in the house.

  • "The position and view was lovely and the owner gave us recommendations for places to eat which were good."

It was good to be close to a beach too, especially with young children. Some of the bathrooms had no mirrors and no towel rails. I would like to see these added as it was difficult to know what to do with damp towels, although there was a clothes airer, this is not as convenient as having towel rails in each bathroom.

  • "My friends and I really enjoyed our stay at Seafield."

We were a group of four who enjoy sea swimming and this property was perfect for that. Peter was very welcoming and soon fixed any little queries that we had. He also pointed out places to go and see and places that were good to go for meals. We felt very secure due to the gates at both ends of the lane, and although none of us took dogs, I'm sure they would love the freedom. Would I recommend this property - certainly! And a massive thank you to Peter for carrying out a repair to my car after a minor incident to allow me to drive home safely.
