    Could have done with an iron but that’s a tiny inconvenience in the grand scheme of things. Would love to go back!

The property

The Stables @ Merrydown is an exceptional, tasteful and newly converted stables with hot tub located on the outskirts of Dalwood village, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty in East Devon and close to the popular UNESCO World Heritage Jurassic Coast.

Perfect for memorable holidays and special occasions, this two bedroom conversion which is all on one level, has been finished with an exceptional eye for detail with many wonderful touches including exposed timbers, vaulted ceilings and feature lighting throughout.

The open plan living area includes a well fitted kitchen and separate dining area for coming together at mealtimes.

The lounge area is bright and welcoming with ample seating and patio doors leading to the private, spacious patio area with a delightful hot tub.

The two equally sized bedrooms are adorned with handcrafted beds and sumptuous bedding for you to catch your rest.

Take a much needed soak in the family bathroom which has a bath with rainfall shower, fitted bathroom units and floor level lighting.

Outside, the rear patio offers you the chance to relax and unwind, whether enjoying alfresco mealtimes or sitting in the hot tub under the stars; the perfect antidote for the stresses of modern living or simply a perfect way to round off a day spent enjoying the coast nearby.

Located close to the Devon and Dorset border, the area has so much to offer with the nearby seaside town of Lyme Regis or the pretty fishing villages of Beer and Branscombe only a short car journey away.

For food lovers, why not sample the local produce and beverages available at one of the many restaurants or local pubs including the Tuckers Arms situated in the centre of the village of Dalwood.

For those who prefer to cook, Millers Farm Shop in neighbouring Kilmington offers an array of local groceries and visitors are sure to come away with far more than intended.

AXMINSTER

Lyme Regis 5 miles; Seaton 7.3 miles; Honiton 10 miles.

Dalwood is a small rural village resting in East Devon, among the idyllic Blackdown Hills AONB. Its facilities include a traditional pub serving food as well as a general store. Close by are some of Devon's most popular attractions. The market town of Axminster, lined with fine buildings, offers much to the visitor including an excellent range of amenities and a fascinating museum. To the western side of the Blackdown Hills you will find another market town, Honiton also holds much charm along with a museum and an art gallery. After your dose of undulating countryside, walking and cycling, you may wish to head to the coast, nearby there is a choice of wonderful seaside spots including Seaton, Lyme Regis and Sidmouth. All come with their own individual character and promise a fun-packed day trip to the beach with their activities and opportunities on offer.
