  • "Very lovely cottage!"

This was perfectly located for enjoying the delights of Appledore - with plentiful nice pubs and food options within walking distance - and as a base for exploring North Devon. The cottage itself is beautifully decorated & very homely. The garden is nice and gets the sun in the afternoons/evenings. The place is very equipped! The bathrooms are very nice with an excellent shower! Be aware the double bed is small but this is a necessity for the size of the room/cottage - it's very comfy however. We would stay here again in a heartbeat.

Thank you very much for your positive feedback. We are always pleased when guests appreciate the work we put into our cottage. We would just like to clarify, for future guests, that the bed is a standard size double bed. Many thanks Property Owner

Lovely local touches like the fresh milk! We enjoyed walking across to the front to listen to the Appledore Brass Band practice on Monday night, we were welcomed by the local band followers and only had a few steps to walk and get some liquid refreshment at The Seagate Pub

We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay at Pepper’s Cottage and experienced some local entertainment. Property Owner

  • "Pepper's was the cleanest cottage I've ever stayed in whilst in Appledore & we've been staying around the village for over 20 yrs in various properties."

The only disappointing factor with the cottage is the garden, although lovely and really rare in Appledore to get a cottage, it isn't secure for dogs, various large gaps on the left hand side of garden, therefore although we had beautiful weather, we couldn't use the garden, together, as the dogs would have got into next door neighbours garden, so one of us had to stay inside with them. It does say in the description, garden may not be suitable for people with motability problems. The steps leading to the garden are extremely steep and due to open spots in garden, we had to keep dogs on lead if they wanted toilet, which did result in my husband falling over, (not the properties fault), trying to negate the dogs and steps. Fixtures and fittings throughout the property are to a high standard. The welcome pack is a nice touch. We would definitely stay at Pepper's again, but would come alone without the dogs. Saying all the pros and cons, I would recommend Pepper's.

Thanks for your feedback. We will rectify the gaps asap to give any future guests the reassurance that it’s safe to let dogs into the garden. Property Owner

  • "I was a little worried about parking when I booked this cottage as road side parking in a tourist location can be tricky."

I had no need to worry, you can pull up outside on the little one way street to unload and there are spaces outside the front and a parallel street behind with short cut paths and loads of spaces and free! The cottage was simply gorgeous. Well equipped kitchen, fabulous comfy beds and good quality linen. Super location, very homely, clearly a lot of money spent making it really special. Only room for improvement would be a hairdryer, locks on the bathroom doors and a tea strainer

Many thanks for your lovely feedback. We will ensure we supply a hairdryer and a lock on the bathroom which was an oversight on our part. Glad you enjoyed your break though at Pepper’s Cottage. Property Owner
