  • "Location great!"

Property tired cracked kitchen cupboards. Washing machine rusty with broken handle.Kitchen bin rusted. Dirty windows. Bed most uncomfortable. Bathroom rusted bin and toilet roll holder. Old furniture. Rusted outdoor table.Vacum cleaner full of dog hair. One teatowel. SYKES INFORMED BUT NOT REPLIED

We are so pleased you enjoyed the location! Sorry to hear you were disappointed otherwise and apologies regarding the vacuum cleaner. This along with more tea towels would have happily been resolved immediately had we been aware - there is a mobile and landline number provided in the welcome pack for this purpose. Thank you for your comments - all have been noted. Property Owner

  • "Old fashioned, uncomfortable chairs, dirty windows, broken blind in dining area, broken window handle in back double bedroom, old gas cooker, ghastly old washing machine, threadbare rug in lounge, awful old hard towels which could have been grey, green or brown who knows?"

A thoroughly disappointing property that we left 2 days early!

Thank you for your comments Dot, all noted. I do believe the pictures of the property accurately depict the style, furniture and appliances etc. I'm sorry to hear you were so disappointed (and that the weather unfortunately didn't help). Property Owner

We had an enjoyable stay. But in our opinion the lounge is too small for four or more adults.

Immaculately clean and well presented. Everything inside that would be required for self catering although there are plenty of eating and pubs in Instow all we tried were good. 10 yards from the beach loads to do and see. A treasured holiday for the whole family

Thank you so much for your comments Matthew, greatly appreciated. We hope to welcome you and/or family back again! Property Owner

Lovely house, would just do with a few extra finishing touches such as extra small side tables/shelves and mirrors in bedrooms. But these are small points, lovely stay and friendly neighbours. Loved being so close to beach & village - walked everywhere! Very friendly local pubs & restaurants

  • "Lovely accommodation, well equipped for our needs, however as mentioned in previous reviews not enough lounge seating for 6 people."

On saying that, more than ample room for us and our two dogs. Listing was exactly as described on website. Lots of useful information regarding nearest supermarkets, petrol stations, attractions etc. Location to local pubs and beach was brilliant, literally 100 meters to the pub and a little further to the beautiful beach. We enjoyed eating at the Wayfarer pub where the food was lovely and the staff friendly. Property within easy walking distance to tarka trail, and we enjoyed our out and back walk along the trail to Bideford. Nice gesture to leave tea , milk , coffee etc for new arrivals . My only suggestion would be to consider finding space for a freezer as this could be helpful for bigger groups or families.

Thank you so much Georgina for your helpful comments and feedback, hugely appreciated. So pleased you had such a lovely stay at our property! Property Owner

  • "Lovely cottage and well situated."

As there was five of us staying lounge seating was limited, we did find it difficult to warm the house as it appeared only one radiator was working but the electric fire did help and the weather was exceptionally windy. We would be happy to stay here again.

Thank you so much for taking the time to feed back. Great to hear you would return despite the weather and heating. Sorry you had this trouble; we would have happily resolved this as soon as we were aware of it but glad the electric fire helped. We hope to see you again. Property Owner

  • "Whilst we thoroughly enjoyed our stay and the house is in a great position, we felt it would be very difficult, if not impossible, to have six guests stay (as advertised) because downstairs is much smaller than upstairs and there are only four comfortable seats in the lounge area."

Also there are only four garden chairs. Having said that, it was great for us and our two small dogs and we would definitely return.

So pleased that you thoroughly enjoyed your stay at our property - thank you for taking the time to feed this back to us! Regarding seating for 4+ guests (note the majority of bookings are couples with dogs such as yourselves) we believe photos should provide a realistic view of furniture and space, but you are correct regarding 4 comfortable seats in the living room. Additional soft seating can be made available as well as two additional garden chairs as required. We are delighted you would return - lovely to hear! Property Owner

Lovely comments - thank you, we are so pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay!
