  • "This is our second visit to the bungalow."

The location is great for the coastal path and Hope Cove is stunning. The garden is enclosed which is great for our Labrador. The only thing we think the property needs is a BBQ but everything else is spot on.

Thank you for your feedback - delighted that you have returned to the bungalow and hope to welcome you back again soon. Property Owner

  • "Weymouth Park is a gorgeous bungalow in a superb location."

Having visited Hope Cove on many occasions over many years, this was ideal for us. Spacious rooms, very clean and comfortable, super comfy beds and a modern bathroom. Kitchen exceptionallly well stocked with pots and pans ..No oven gloves though!!! Lovely enclosed garden which is a little sun trap. Two minute walk out of the property to the bottom of the cul de sac, down the pathway and you are on the south west coast path, a real plus for us as we are keen walkers. A couple mins more downhill and you are in Hope Cove with 2 lovely beaches. Beware walking back uphill, it's steep :) but oh so handy. Hope and Anchor good pub food and nice for a drink, Lobster Pod pods are amazing and a very pleasant change, food and service was excellent too. I would definitely recommend this bungalow.

Thank you so much for your feedback! We are delighted that you enjoyed your stay and Hope Cove. We hope to welcome you back soon. Property Owner

  • "Lovely bungalow in a beautiful place."

Hope Cove is outstanding and the bungalow is so close to visit so many places in this lovely part of Devon. We wanted to return for another holiday there around August/ September time but the bungalow was fully booked. Which shows how popular it is. Perhaps the only thing I could say about the bungalow is that in certain parts it could do with a little updating of carpets, furniture, painting, like the bathroom and toilet have been done, but this does not stop it being a very well stocked clean, lovely bungalow situated a short walk down to the beach, restaurants and pubs. I would highly recommend to stay there and we will definitely be booking to stay there again.

Really good location, would definitely book again. The only small issues were the shower has really low pressure, we couldn't find any oven gloves and an iron/ironing board would have been useful.

We are glad that you enjoyed your stay and hope to welcome you back soon. Thank you for your suggestions on how to improve the property for future guests! Property Owner

Very clean and comfortable. In great location. Very useful that it has a drive big enough for 2 or more cars as hope cove is difficult for parking. I always find Sykes very good to deal with.

  • "Nice bungalow in a good position for walking to Hope Cove and close to the coast path."

Good garden for dogs, determined terriers might be able to escape into the field behind but for those less inclined to push through hedges, like ours, it is fine. Comfortable clean and bright. Firm double bed. The pub in the village was good and open more than most.

  • "Very homely."

Would book again. Unfortunately we found the journey very tiring from lancashire. Fri on m6 horrendous. Am looking at cotswolds with yourselves. This property. 33, needs a decent hoover. Those cleaners must struggle with that contraption. How i know, we are contract cleaners and have been for the last 25 yrs. Contract, domestic, its all the same. Equipment is equipment. . They need a henry. £100. Cheap. Hope this helps. Yours. Janet dockerty

  • "The property was very tired, shabby and cluttered with old items that appeared to be the belongs of the previous owner."

The standard of cleaning was very poor and far below the standards of previous holiday properties we have stayed.

We are very sorry you found the cleaning below standard. As soon as we heard of your concerns -through our gardener -we got someone from coast and country to contact you immediately. We take all comments on board and are sorry you found the property below standard although this is not reflected in reviews from previous guests. Property Owner

Clearly the owners have refurbished recently. The only issue was the water pressure. Other than that well equipped with a dog friendly garden!

Thank you for your review. We are very glad you had a great time and that your dog did too! We will look into the water pressure as it is normally pretty high. Property Owner

  • "Thought the property was excellent, very clean and had everything one would want."

The only 4 star rating out of 5 would be the back garden. Generally its a bit scruffy, the seating area could be better and be maybe a bit newer. One must accept that it is difficult to upkeep and the slope of the garden does not help but both my wife suffer with worn hips and the steps up to the lawn even with handrails is difficult and potentially dangerous. However but top marks overall, we would be more than happy to return again. Well Done Coast & Country keep up the very high standard

We are delighted you were impressed with the property and will take on board your comments re the seating area. We appreciate it may not be accessible for all to reach the top of the garden given it is on a slope. We hope to welcome you back soon! Property Owner

A couple of things. The fence at the back has blown over I think so it meant it wasn't secure. The double bed at the back could do with an upgrade as it was very hard. Other than that we couldn't fault it and would love to visit again some time. Hope Cove is also fab.

About the location

HOPE COVE

Salcombe 4.6 miles; Kingsbridge 5.1 miles

The picturesque and unspoiled village of Hope Cove lies in the sheltered curve of Bigbury Bay on Devon’s south coast. A choice destination for families, the two beaches offering soft sand and rock pools for sandcastle building and fishing for small crabs. The town remains a fishing village where crabs and lobsters are still landed, however it was once used by smugglers. Many ships have perished around the coast and the wrecks that lie beneath the waves make it a popular spot for divers. Above the beach there are a number of pubs and restaurants. The coastal footpath can be joined from here and leads towards Bigbury-on-sea in one direction and the coastal resort of Salcombe in the other.
