  Danny and Sarah have thought of everything to make this a wonderful place to stay. The grounds are amazing, with regular visits from deer, birds and rabbits.   There is a delightful garden and orchard to relax in. Great location for local walks and a short stroll to the Mary Tavy Inn. It is in an ideal situation for exploring the Tavistock and Dartmoor area. Danny is an outstanding host, ensuring our stay was perfect, on hand to offer advice and suggest places of interest to visit and suitable walks.

• "An ideal location for a visit to Dartmoor with many places of interest within easy reach or a short drive ."

  The accommodation is immaculately presented , spotlessly clean with very comfortable beds all the facilities you could wish for . Outside there several areas of very well maintained gardens to sit with plenty of wildlife and even the occasional deer . An extremely quiet location but not too far away from shops , pubs and places of interest . Danny and Sarah made us very welcome and I highly recommend Cholwell Barn for a relaxing holiday.

• "We had an outstanding stay at Cholwell Barn."

  The barn is extremely well equipped, it was immaculately clean and we loved the views and location. Mary Tavy is a beautiful village and very well placed to begin exploring the Moor. Alongside this, Danny and Sarah were so welcoming and accommodating. They made is feel very welcome and were on hand to offer useful information. We cannot recommend Cholwell Barn enough. Our girls loved dtaying there.We had a brilliant week and we want to return.

• "From the moment we met Danny on a previous visit we knew we would get an extremely warm welcome to cholwell barn."

  Danny and Sarah go above and beyond to ensure you have a lovely holiday. Beautifully appointed property with everything you would need. Magical garden to enjoy running down to a beautiful stream where you can sit and relax. Super comfy beds, linen and fluffy white towels. Great location for cycling on route 27. • "We have been coming to Dartmoor for years and this has to be one of our favourite properties."

  Beautifully maintained grounds which we were free to explore, and the interior light, spacious and spotless. Very quiet surroundings with plenty of bird life and some superb walking right from the door. Tavistock is about 10 mins drive with a fabulous indoor market and the moor an easy drive from there. We will definitely be returning and would recommend Cholwell Barn to anyone thinking of exploring Dartmoor.

• "This really is a beautiful place to stay."

  Danny and Sarah made us feel very welcome and could not have been more helpful. The apartment is perfect in every way and has a lovely private garden for sitting out and relaxing after some fantastic walks across Dartmoor and the surrounding areas. The property has an orchard garden and grounds which lead down to Cholwell Brook where you can sit peacefully on the banks and just enjoy nature. There are two really good pubs within easy walking distance, the Mary Tavy Inn and the Peter Tavy Inn (booking a table at either of them is recommended because they are so popular!) We heartily recommend that you book this apartment.

• "My wife and I recently enjoyed a week at Cholwell Barn."

  I could not fault the accomodation or welcome from the owners. The place is a real jewel. The garden even has it's own mini wood with stream. Within walking distance is the Mary Tavy Pub. Food and decor is priceless. The apartment is in a great central location for touring. Tavistock is of course very local. Great place!

• "Danny and Sarah were perfect hosts in a perfect spot."

  The detached apartment was immaculate and very comfortable. Danny and Sarah were on hand to provide us with the local knowledge to get the most from the beautiful tors, rivers, streams and paths on our doorstep (including within their extensive garden). With a post office/shop, pubs and bus stop (connecting to the train station at Okehampton) within easy walking distance, it would be possible to spend a week here without a car. Highly recommended!   And has everything board games, bottle opener to extra garbage ba. You need something its there and our kids loved the barn converted setting. Kitchen area very moderna and great for a small family to have a good time, We will go again :)

• "Quiet, Very spacious, clean and extremely well presented."

  The beds were comfortable, the fixtures and fitting were everything you could need. Danny and Sarah were extremely welcoming, friendly, and would stop for a chat but not in the least intrusive. We would certainly return there if staying in West Devon again.

• "Great holiday at Cholwell Barn."

  The accommodation is in an ideal place for access to Dartmoor, the coast is accessible for day trips and there are a couple of excellent gardens in the area to visit. Danny and Sarah clearly have pride in delivering a great holiday experience, providing spotless accommodation with good facilities and helpful advice as and when needed. The private garden is a nice sun trap, ideal for any time of the day. I have no hesitation in recommending Cholwell Barn for a relaxing break.

• "We had a very comfortable and enjoyable stay at the Cholwell Barn Apartment."

  Danny and Sarah are impeccable host’s, very friendly and helpful without being intrusive, they were on hand at all time’s and nothing was to much trouble for them. The apartment was very clean and comfortable and contained all you needed for your stay. There were a couple of minor issues, ie we would have liked a couple of side tables in the lounge and a larger shelf in the downstairs bathroom but that is our own preferences and does certainly not impact on any way on the apartment itself, which is great and in a quite location, with your own private outside seating area and within the owners beautiful garden which is extensive, including a small orchard and lovely woodland with a stream where we were fortunate to see some deer. You can enter the apartment on two levels which is also great if you have mobility issues and is an extra bonus. We all had a wonderful time staying here and we would all definitely return. We can not recommend Cholwell Barn Apartment and our hosts highly enough and we truly yank you Danny and Sarah for our wonderful stay with you. 5*

• "Everything about the accommodation and interaction with the hosts was first class."

  The enjoyment of our stay was also enhanced by unexpected extras such as the large well tended garden, the first floor balcony, the property being detached and not overlooked, the quietness and the birdsong. It is a special place and we would recommend it.

• "First stay in a Sykes property, immaculately clean, well-equipped, v comfortable and hosts Danny and Sarah were wonderful and did everything they could to make our stay as comfy as possible, including having cot, high chair and stair gates installed when we arrived so we could keep our almost 1 year old safe."

  They also gave us great tips on local walks and facilities and the playground in Mary Tavy was a great hit with both children

• "Went with a friend and we wanted separate bedrooms and bathrooms."

  With the twin room and shower room on the ground floor, everything else upstairs, it gave us both the space we wanted. Danny and Sarah are a lovely couple, friendly and easy to talk with. They are there if needed but do not intrude. Their dog Dart is adorable. The accommodation was spotlessly clean, and had everything you might need for your stay. Danny and Sarah also included Wine, Milk and goodies, as well as all the cleaning stuff, etc. The beds were very comfortable and ensured a great night's sleep. We had good weather for our stay so enjoyed the use of our own private garden, and sitting on the balcony (from the lounge) looking across the countryside. We also explored their gardens and woodland too. The Mary Tavy Inn was a great choice for a meal, a short (but hilly) walk away. The accommodation is in an excellent location for exploring the area, especially Dartmoor. Thank Danny, Sarah and Dart for a wonderful stay and hope to see you again

• "An excellent location for exploring Devon and Cornwall."

  The views from the cottage are wonderful as are the walks. The garden is enchanting and the visit by a local deer capped it all. Our hosts were very attentive but did not intrude and they had the balance just right. We would love to come again.
