Braunton town only a 15 min walk away, plenty of shops/pubs/eateries etc.The kitchen was very well equipped for a large group. Kitchen and dining area a great social space for large groups. Excellent sized bedrooms. Garden and games room kept children of various ages occupied. Highly recommend this house, in the perfect location to keep everyone of all ages happy,

  • "We had a fantastic week in North Devon staying at Nairn house."

On arrival the house was immaculate and we felt at home from the start with a welcome bottle of wine left by the owners. The local town has plenty of shops and places to eat and is only 10-15 min walk away. The facilities in the house were excellent, with pool, table football and of course the jacuzzi was a massive plus. Overall the house was well presented with loads of space and quality throughout, we would highly recommend a stay. It was nice to get a call from Andy and Iona letting us know we could arrive early on the first day, which was welcome after a long drive. All in all a great week away and we would love to come back.

Our 4 year old daughter especially enjoyed exploring the garden, games room and loved the huge bath! On arrival we had a delicious cake to enjoy, along with other extras, which were a lovely surprise and added to our stay. The location is great as a base with attractions not being too far a drive away. A walk into the local village is just 15 minutes and the local Thai restaurant is worth a visit. We were a party of 11, aged between 70 and 3 and it catered for us all with room to spare! All the bedrooms were spacious with ample wardrobe space and great en-suites in the doubles. The main bathroom had a huge bath which the younger children enjoyed. Downstairs the accommodation was vast, the games room was very popular with the adults, the kitchen/dining room/ living room was very well equipped and the main lounge was huge! With the separate smaller sitting room providing some welcome quiet space on occasion. Outside the garden is great for children and the odd adult game of boules but the hit of the holiday, according to the children, was the hot tub. The location is great with a 10-15 minute walk to town, Staunton Sands and various other places to visit within a short drive. With plenty of off road parking this really is a perfect holiday house. The owner, Iona, was very helpful with information before we arrived and we very much appreciated the welcome pack and delicious cake.

We just chilled in the house for the first two days before venturing out to nearby beaches. We particularly enjoyed Saunton Sands beach and Putsborough beach. We were delighted that the cupboards were full of everything we could possibly need. All the rooms and bedrooms were tastefully presented and comfortable, and there were even children’s toys for our 4 year old grandson to play with. • "The house and facilities were lovely and to a high standard."

The house was very well equipped and incredibly spacious. Our only complaint would be the fact that the building work was literally going on at the end of the garden so workers were able to look into the garden. In addition the noise sometimes started at 5am with deliveries and normally at 7.30. We were told that work was going on at the other side of a field not at the end of the garden.

Thank you taking the time to leave your feedback and we are pleased to hear you enjoyed your stay at Nairn. The note (in red) included at the foot of the listing also flashes up when customers proceed to the booking stage (just to be sure all guests are aware). As you'll see the development started in October 2019 and at that time the initial works were three fields away. As anticipated, the works have progressed over time and the development has come closer. The hedging has been planted in order to provide some visual screening and a discount was set in place with the building works in mind. Property Owner

There were something to please everyone - hot tub. table tennis, pool table, garden play items for the children, wood burning stoves, two fridges! The location is ideal for beaches and shops. Braunton is a village in North Devon, situated right at the centre of the North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and incorporating Braunton Burrows, the largest area of sand dunes in Europe, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. A couple of miles from the village is Saunton Sands beach, a three-mile stretch of beautiful west-facing sandy beach, backed by the sand dunes. Stroll along the beach, enjoy the surfing, or have a leisurely picnic. Just five minutes around the headland is Croyde Bay an excellent surfing beach, and round the next headland is Woolacombe Bay, another 3 mile stretch of beautiful sandy beach. There are some fabulous golf courses in the area including Saunton, Portmore or Royal North Devon golf courses. The South West Coast Path from Braunton to Instow follows part of the Tarka Trail along the estuary of the River Taw. This is part of North Devon’s Biosphere Reserve and much of the route follows old railway trackbeds, which now serve as an easy level route for walkers as well as cyclists. An understated part of Devon, with plenty to do for coast and country lovers alike.
