  • "Thank you for a lovely holiday at Sundial."

Our family felt at home straight away. The property was very comfortable, homely and clean with every need provided for. The views are amazing. We all enjoyed use of the games room. The bees nest was dealt with immediately by Kerry from Sykes - thank you so much to her. We hope to return at some time in the future. Thank you again

  • "The photos don't do this lovely spacious house and gardens justice."

Perfect for a family holiday. The owners were extremely accommodating and Kerry our contact at the cleaning company who manage things was fantastic. Wouldn't hesitate to recommend.

The property

Sundial is an imposing property with glorious panoramic views over Braunton, the Taw Estuary, and the North Devon Coast.

The house is within walking distance of bustling Braunton and it’s just a short drive to an array of award-winning surf beaches.

It’s the perfect destination for a holiday, a large family gathering, or a special occasion with friends.

What strikes visitors as they enter this gorgeous property, is the sheer space on offer so whether you want to all gather together to socialise or you want quiet time to unwind, Sundial has it all.

Choose from the warm and welcoming sitting room with plenty of seating, a woodburning stove, and Smart TV, a great space to relax in, or take a seat in the inviting snug with sofas and another woodburning stove, which forms a delightful focal point to the room and is somewhere you can imagine spending lots of time catching up on the day’s adventures.

Alternatively, there is a fantastic games room complete with table tennis, pool, and air hockey, to keep you entertained for hours.

When it’s time to eat, then the resident chef will be delighted with the amply fitted kitchen/diner which has everything needed to produce hearty meals for the holiday party with an elegant dining area, all ready to host formal dinner parties and informal breakfasts and brunches.

If the Devon sun is shining down, then make your way out to the gardens which as well as lawns, a barbecue, and a patio area has a fabulous summerhouse, the perfect spot for some alfresco entertaining.

There is even an outdoor shower here!

After a day of exploring and socialising, you’ll be ready for bed, so take your pick from five wonderfully-appointed bedrooms, featuring a tucked away double bedroom, a double bunk bedroom that sleeps four, a king-size master suite with far-reaching views, and a stunning en-suite bathroom with freestanding bath, a super-king-size (zip/link) and a further king-size.

There is no better place to wake up in the morning than Sundial, where you can enjoy a full breakfast together, either in the kitchen/diner or outside, and plan your day's activities.

Stroll into Braunton, which has a great selection of shops and eateries, and because this is in the heart of the North Devon Area of Natural Outstanding Beauty, there are plenty of walks and trails to enjoy, with some great bird and wildlife to spot along the way, as well as the South West Coastal Path, which also offers some stunning scenery along the Tarka Trail.

Check out the neighboring beaches, including Saunton Sands, which offers three miles of golden sand, Croyde Bay, which is renowned among surfers, and Woolacombe Bay.

An amazing adventure awaits at Sundial.

About the location

BRAUNTON

Croyde 5 miles; Barnstaple 6 miles; Woolacombe 9.5 miles.

Braunton is a village in North Devon, situated right at the centre of the North Devon Areas of Outstanding Natural Beauty and incorporating Braunton Burrows, the largest area of sand dunes in Europe, a designated Site of Special Scientific Interest. A couple of miles from the village is Saunton Sands beach, a three-mile stretch of beautiful west-facing sandy beach, backed by the sand dunes. Stroll along the beach, enjoy the surfing, or have a leisurely picnic. Just five minutes around the headland is Croyde Bay an excellent surfing beach, and round the next headland is Woolacombe Bay, another 3 mile stretch of beautiful sandy beach. There are some fabulous golf courses in the area including Saunton, Portmore or Royal North Devon golf courses. The South West Coast Path from Braunton to Instow follows part of the Tarka Trail along the estuary of the River Taw. This is part of North Devon’s Biosphere Reserve and much of the route follows old railway trackbeds, which now serve as an easy level route for walkers as well as cyclists. An understated part of Devon, with plenty to do for coast and country lovers alike.
