"Lovely, cosy cottage."
Just right for 2 people. In the heart of Brixham not far from anything. Didn't visit the Manor pub, but seemed a very friendly bunch when we first arrived. Really appreciated the welcome of a cream tea with a bottle of Prosecco on arrival. Would definitely come back to this cottage.
-
"Fantastic little cottage, just right for the two of us for our holiday."
Great location. The welcoming touches of the scones , jam, clotted cream and the bottle of bubbly was a lovely touch from Alison. Couldn't fault the cottage at all, it was so nice inside and made for a wonderful stay.
-

"A really lovely little cottage - very clean and in a great location."
Perfect for a few days in Brixham. I visited on my own to have a few days peace and quiet. The owners provided a bottle of Prosecco and scones as a treat on arrival, which was really thoughtful. There was a fresh pint of milk in the fridge and tea, coffee and sugar on hand too. The bed is super comfy - I slept amazingly! Fire extinguishers, bin/ recycling box, extra blankets, a torch and a hairdryer were provided too. The cottage is just across the way from the Manor Pub which a lovely spot for a drink and also the oldest pub in Brixham. A little further up the road is All Saints church - the bells play out the tune to ‘abide with me’ at 8 o’clock every day which was lovely.
Thank you Jo, so pleased you enjoyed your stay, thanks for a great review. We look forward to welcoming you again. Best wishes Ali & Ron. Property Owner

"It is obvious that a lot of time, thought, effort and money has been invested in this cottage."
The 'Welcome pack' was just what was needed after a 200 mile journey. Just a 2 minute walk to the harbour.and all of Brixham is there.
-
"Excellent, clean and comfortable."
Great location. Cosy and warm which was wonderful for a December break.
-
"Pilchard cottage is a stunning fishermans cottage located in beautiful Brixham."
Set just up from the harbour it was a perfect place for a few days away. We will be back in the near future.
-
"The cottage is beautiful, very well finished and really cosy."
It is just a very short walk from the harbour and the local restaurants - there's even a pub just along the row making it an excellent location to base in Brixham. Few things to be mindful of: there isn't parking at the cottage (I parked at the long stay behind the fish market which was fine), the area is hilly so be prepared for that and there was some commotion from some neighbours for a few nights but hope that's not regular. The owner was helpful and responsive, and had even left us cream tea to enjoy on arrival along with some bubbles

"Lovely little cottage nicely situated could park the car up and travel on the buses, everything you need for a nice relaxing holiday."
Many thanks for your feedback, glad you enjoyed it . We look forward to welcoming you again one day Kind regards Alison and Ron Property Owner

"Fabulous cottage, great location."

"We had a lovely stay."
The cottage was nicely presented, clean and well provided with necessities. The only downside was that the bedroom blinds aren’t blackout blinds and let in quite a bit of light from the street. The location was good as it was a short walk from the town centre and sea front. Brixham is a really nice place to stay. There are some lovely local businesses very close by- we particularly enjoyed the cheese shop and the Flour Flower cafe which are just around the corner and the very close by Manor pub has a great selection of spirits. On street parking, as described, is a little tricky but that is expected in Devon and Cornwall and we still managed to find space to park on the street near the Battery Gardens that wasn’t too far away. We enjoyed our holiday and would happily recommend this property.

"We stayed here two years ago and always said we would return, so we did."
Had a lovely time - small but perfectly formed

"Pilchard Cottage in Brixham is a beautifully presented and well-renovated holiday home, spotlessy clean and with everything provided."
it is also easy to get in touch with the owners if there is a problem. The only downside, in our opinion (which is completely unavoidable due to its position) is the lack of parking, although we could back up close by to unload our bits and pieces, and nowhere to sit outside. Drivers need to be aware the access is narrow, steep and with very tight corners to manoeuver, but then, that's part of the fun, isn't it.

"What a little gem pilchard cottage is."
So small yet so perfect ! It has everything we needed as a couple away for a relaxing few days. The cottage has been really well designed to fit everything in that we needed to make our stay so lovely! The bed was really comfy and the shower was a fabulous size for the size of the cottage and very powerful ! We purchased a four day parking permit for the breakwater carpark which was ideal for my hubby to go early morning fishing on the breakwater having his fishing gear in the car ready for him! So many lovely places to eat and drink , we love the old market house and liberty’s especially. All in all another lovely stay in our favourite place, Brixham!!
Thank you for your lovely review, so glad you enjoyed your stay in our cottage, looking forward to having you visit again.. Ali & Ron. Property Owner

Very comfortable and convenient. Had a great stay.

"Pilchard cottage was perfect for our holiday."
It’s very well presented, with a superb location! Highly recommend to anyone!
-
"Well presented, tastefully decorated."
Ideally situated for local restaurants and bars. Bed very comfortable. Lovely personal touch with the Prosecco and cream and jam scones. Visited various National Trust properties and enjoyed the Totnes to Dartmouth river cruise. Lost my earring whilst there, Alison found it and kindly forwarded it on to me. One negative is the parking, which we were aware of before arriving due to previous reviews. We purchased an 8 day Torbay parking pass which we used in Torquay, Paignton, Babbacombe and also several car parks in Brixham. Would gladly stay again.

"I spent a wonderful week (3/6/22 to 10/6/22) in this enchanting cottage, located in the heart of Brixham."
The cottage was fully equipped with everything a visitor could need, there was outstanding attention to detail for visitors comfort and peace of mind, including an exceptionally comfortable bed! I cannot recommend a stay in Pilchard Cottage highly enough, A fabulous holiday, thankyou.

"This is a lovely cottage near the harbour in Brixham."
Small but sufficiently close to all amenities. This is a perfect place to unwind and have a relaxing break in a traditional fishing harbour. We have no reservations about recommending Pilchard Cottage .There is not any parking at the cottage but there are ample car parks near by and on road parking around. This was air first time Using ” coast and country cottages” and will definitely use them again. John & Geraldine.

"Lovely cottage, nice features, perfectly located, the only drawback for us was the lack of access for the car"
-
"We loved our 3 night stay over New Years."
We were really impressed with Brixham and the surrounding seaside walks. The cottage was ideal for us, very cleverly designed to maximise space available, beautifully refurbished and decorated. We had everything we needed to self cater, and really appreciated the Prosecco and delicious mince pies. I didn’t realise they went so well with clotted cream! When we did have one minor issue, Alison responded immediately and it was resolved very quickly with no inconvenience to us. We were able to park on a street about 5 minutes walk away, but never went back to the car until our departure. Finally it was magical to stand outside the church and listen to Abide With Me played out by the bells at 8pm nightly.

"It would be hard to find a better place to stay in Brixham."
A very well equipped and lovely place to enjoy your holiday.

"This was our third visit, so much love and attention to detail has been put into ..."
This was our third visit, so much love and attention to detail has been put into this cottage it’s an absolute pleasure to stay here
-
"Lovely little property in an ideal location for Brixham's amenities."
Super clean and well looked after.
-
"The cottage was really lovely and well positioned for our stay."
With a warm welcome of a cream tea and prosecco. We did however find the street so narrow and was extremely stressful unloading and loading our luggage as there was no parking with the property or unloading bay. We purchased a weekly parking ticket and left our car at Freshwater car park by the harbour. Roughly a 10 minute walk from the cottage. Best wishes Carol and Peter
-
"It was our second stay here and we just as impressed as the first time so we have booked a third."
Please be aware there is no parking at this property, you can reverse up the road to unload but will then after fined a long stay car park
-
"Ideal location but need to know that parking is not ideal as you have to find parking in an estate which is a generous walk of about 15 to 20 minutes from the cottage!"
This walk takes in a lot of steps and inclines so not ideal for anyone who suffers when walking. Cottage was very small and cosy.
-
"Pilchard cottage was a beautiful clean modern cottage decor was really lovely however it was so small."
There was no cupboards to put any food only a fridge. We had two suitcases and had to put one back in the car. The access to the cottage was very narrow having to reverse down a back lane where customers of the pub were sitting on the pavement with their feet on the road. Subsequently on our departure we had to make quite a few journeys of 12 minutes back to our car with our belongings as we didn’t want to reverse down street again. The owners very kindly left Prosecco and a cream tea which was very kind.
-
"Thank you so much for your super cute stay, in your lovely cottage, it is set in a central place, for Brixham town centre, lovely restaurants, shops etc."
The beautiful detail you've put in to this cottage is amazing, and a credit to both of you. We will return soon all being well.
-
"The cottage was very clean and modern with good facilities."
The bed was comfortable so we always had a good night's sleep. The cottage was close to the harbour and other local amenities but was still in a quiet location. Well worth the long journey and a good location for exploring Devon
-

Central to Brixham town,a short walk to shops and restaurants, with a local pub, just up the hill. Pilchard cottage is small, cosy and comfortable, relaxing,it didn't disappoint,a true credit to Alison and Ron the owners,Alison will help With any inquiries very helpful. We will return soon.

"Cottage was just wonderful!"
The owners left not only a nice welcome pack, including cream scones but also all those useful little bits you may need. The bed was so comfortable, using a locally made wool mattress. Location could not of been better just a few steps away from the centre. Simply lovely quiet pretty cottage we look forward to returning.
-
"Lovely little cottage nestling in the historic back lanes of Brixham close to harbour."
This cottage as been equipped with your needs and lovingly fitted out. Well soon be returning
-
"We had never been to Brixham before."
Pilchard Cottage has a great location in Brixham, just a short flight of steps down to the harbour. It is quite small, but a perfectly formed cottage for 2. We packed a lot into our week - three National Trusts, a steam rail trip, boat trips and lots of walking. We had two outdoor (lockdown) meals by the harbour, both excellent. Good supermarkets within a 5 minute walk, a great artisan baker and a fishmonger trading out of the back door of the fish market. Car parking is a 5 minute walk (we bought a weekly ticket which covered us in other car parks too). All in all a great week.
