  • "Excellent holiday home, well presented and clean."

Everything thought of that one might need at home. Good position to park car and walk into the town. Liked the fact that it was dog friendly too. Highly recommend.

  • "We had a lovely week at Annings View!"

4 of us with 2 doggies. It was homely and the welcome pack was gratefully received so thank you! We brought lots of cleaning stuff .. but not needed apart from the oven which was so dirty and the house needs a lick of paint..the walk back up the hill was a challenge but we are in our 60’s and really don’t know what people complain about! We would stay here again when visiting Lyme Regis again.. absolutely!

  • "I have stayed at Anning view before so I know it’s a nice house and kept clean."

We were told the dishwasher was broken, but did not expect to have to wash greasy trays and frying pan before using them. A disappointing start. We also asked for twin beds to be zipped together and yet again this was not done, why offer as an option if you are not going to do it. Other than that its was a nice stay in Lyme Regis and the house in general is comfortable and has everything you need for you stay. The welcome pack is great.

It was well equipped and scrupulously clean. There was a generous and unexpected welcome bag which was a delight. I could not have been happier there. Highly recommended

We are delighted that you had a lovely stay and found all you needed at hand for a relaxing break! We’d love to welcome you back. Property Owner

  • "Nice, modern house."

Well equipped with off road parking. Clean and comfortable. Location is about 2/3 of a mile from the harbour and beach. Be prepared for a 300 yard steep walk back to the house if you walk into town. There’s an alternate route through the local cemetery that avoids most of the hill but makes it about a mile each way. Lyme Regis is a fun place to visit. The beaches are full of fossil interest, particularly Monmouth Beach at low tide. We were surprised at how busy it was, mid-week in mid-May. I dread to think what it would be like Bank Holiday weekend in August. “The Ship” inn had the best fried fish of the 3 places we tried . Some nice cliff top walks to the east of the town. Stonebarrow Hill is National Trust and has great coastal views. It’s at the end of a longish drive along a very narrow country road so be prepared for a reversal or two into a passing place. Hive Beach is another NT property that offers a walk to Cogden Beach that is miles long. Great dog walking and the sea worn stones on the beach are beautiful and varied. We had a good 4 night break. Would stay again, if we can find a less busy time and now that we know about the cemetery cutout route to avoid the hill!

Thank you so much for your feedback, we are delighted you had a good stay. The map showing the easier route is in the guest guide book right at the front now to make it available for future guests. Lyme does have a few hills being by the sea, but sounds like you took full advantage of the beautiful countryside! We hope you will return soon. Property Owner

  • "The house is lovely, very comfortable, well equipped and clean with a nice little outdoor space where you can sit in the sunshine in the morning and at night is lit up prettily."

Having two bathrooms is a big plus as well. The only negative is for older guests or people with limited mobility like ourselves as it is a long steep walk back from the sea. We don’t have a car but we managed with taxis. Luckily Lyme has excellent and very friendly taxi sévices.

Thank you very much for your feedback. We are delighted that you had a comfortable stay and hope that you’ll consider visiting us again! Property Owner

  • "The property was great, the attention to detail on things you might need was great."

quite a way out of town but that was good for us as our dogs got lovely long walks to the beach every day. We discovered the fridge wasn’t working on the evening we arrived, so I called up at 9.00 the next morning, a very nice gentleman was at our house by 9.10 to see if he could fix, when it wasn’t possible he went and got us another straight away. The food in the fridge was ruined. But apart from that situation was resolved very quickly and the two men were very polite and helpful.

We are sorry to hear that you had a problem with the fridge during your stay, and are pleased that our local team could resolve this for you. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "We stayed here the previous year and it felt like a home from home."

It was tidy and nice and the welcome pack is really great and appreciated. It does now smell a little doggy down stairs as I guess not everyone takes the same care with their dogs and other peoples property that we do. So the carpet could do with freshening up in the lounge, it is not dirty and the smell is not overpowering or anything like that. Most people probably would not notice. Other than that it really is in a good location. The access into the building is via steps and the driveway is a little steep but there is no problem if you do not have mobility issues. There is space on the road to park if you was worried about parking. It has never bothered up. We would be happy stay here again.

Hello and thank you so much for the kind feedback. We are thrilled that you chose to come back to Anning’s View, and it feels like a home from home - exactly as we’d want! • "A lovely relaxing stay this week."

The house had everything we needed and was spotlessly clean. We enjoyed the walk down into Lyme which took about 10-15 minutes past the water mill or through Charmouth Road carpark and down the steps onto the beach to hunt for fossils. The walk back up took a little longer but a great way to burn off the cream tea! The bins do need to put out when asked otherwise they don’t get emptied - the bin was very full when we arrived so we ended up taking recycling home with us but it all got emptied on the Friday before we left. All the information is written up clearly in a folder. The tin opener doesn’t work so needs replacing but other than that it was perfect

Thank you for your kind comments and it's great to hear that you had an enjoyable stay. We will organise a replacement tin opener. Property Owner

  • "Have used Lyme Bay Holidays a few times as my parents rent property out through them."

Really disappointing stay this time as the house wasn’t clean. Floors not hoovered (crumbs and bits all over them!) and floors not mopped, sticky drink spillages etc) someone’s dirty washing still in the garden! Also the bathroom sink was broken which the cleaners would have known about as they left the sink full of water?! Called Lyme Bay who, to be fair sent house keeping back to do it but wouldn’t go into the property as my dog was there as we had just popped out to the Tesco. Girl who I dealt with on the phone was huffing and puffing at me when I said I would clean myself (but that I wasn’t happy!) House nicely furnished, some of the pots and pans need replacing. Location is up a steep hill, fine for use but tricky if you struggle to walk. Just a shame the standard of cleaning from previous stays has slipped!

Thank you for taking the time to provide feedback, and we are really pleased to hear that the house was comfortable for you despite the initial issues with the cleaning. Lyme Bay Holidays are looking into this, as it's a most unusual situation and not what is to be expected. We'll also look at the pans; we've equipped the house with two pan sets to make sure there are plenty, but based on your feedback we will remove or replace any that seem tired. We hope you had a memorable happy holiday. We'd love to welcome you back again. Property Owner

Long way from seafront not for older people would never go there again walking to seafront impossible!

We appreciate that you have provided us feedback. We are very sorry to hear about your challenges, and will make sure that we leave some directions on the routes we take to ease the walk back to the house, plus numbers for the local taxi firms if the walk back is a bit much after a day at the beach. We are in a quiet residential area, which benefits with off road parking, however, we have reviewed our property description to make sure the location is clear. We hope that you enjoyed the comforts of home while you were there. Property Owner

  • "It was a lovely place to stay."

Nice distant view of the sea. Appreciated lots of windows that opened wide. The children loved having 2 TV's. Everywhere was very clean. The downstairs sofa was good for sleeping on...this meant our 4 children could spread out for sleeping. The curtains and blinds are really good and keep out the light well. We walked to the sandy beach every day....its a very steep walk, so coming back is hard work but do- able and good exercise! I would have appreciated a washing line in the garden and pegs. Also instructions for the washing machine or some idea of the length of the programmes would be helpful. The rubbish instructions could be clearer. In the cupboard near the microwave it has different info to that in the welcome folder. Also it wasn't clear that all the rubbish, recycling and food waste just had to be mixed in one bin...i had to phone up to find this out. Some further info on what things should be put in the linen bags at the end of the stay would be helpful. I didn't know how many pillow cases to take off...each pillow had 2, also whether both tablecloths should be taken off. The cleaner told me the mattress protectors should be taken off but i had not thought to do this. Some specific info would help here. Should the bed spreads go in the bags too? If you are replacing pillows ever...some firmer ones would be nice. The screen for the shower over the bath seems to be jammed.....this means that lots of spray from the shower comes out onto the floor and toilet. Overall we were very happy with the property. Lastly..I would prefer to know where the property is exactly on initial booking. Having to wait until paying all the money was not great.

Thank you for your thoughtful review, we are really pleased that you had a lovely holiday and a comfortable stay at Anning's View. Based on your feedback we are checking on the instructions for rubbish collection, where the airer and pegs are, and the other areas you would have liked more information on. We appreciate your comments, and hope you'll return to enjoy Anning's View again. Property Owner

  • "It was a truly wonderful home, decorated and furnished as we would have done."

It was really clean, tidy and very presentable. The kitchen was fully equipped with everything you would need to live there permanently. The bedrooms are really tidy with comfortable beds, there are 2 bathrooms and a toilet which were also so clean. Each of these rooms had scent sticks which was a nice touch. The courtyard was nice and secure for our dogs. The neighbours were friendly too. The drive is on s slope, but there is street parking opposite if you have difficulty with mobility. There are a few steps to get in the property. I just wanted to mention...Lyme is hilly so it is to be expected. To top it off there was a welcome box. We had a really great time here and would love to come back again. It was a home from home.

We are so pleased to read your review, thank you for taking the time. It's great to hear that you had a lovely holiday and felt comfortable. We want our guests to feel that Anning's View has all the best bits about home, while being by the sea. We hope you'll come and stay again. There was an excellent welcome pack awaiting our arrival which was most appreciated. The only thing which was a drawback was that the house was located at the top of a hill which wasn’t mentioned in the holiday summary.
