    But some feeling the cottage could have been a bit better provided for in way of washing up gloves, kitchen towel, bit more generous provision of loo paper, stuff to clean the bath!

  • "Having stayed at the Arched House several times before we knew what to expect and were not disappointed in the least."

    It catered well for three generations of the family and no doubt we will be seeking to repeat the experience once our plans for 2026 are known. The house is so convenient for what we need and do in Lyme with a short level walk to the beach and plenty of nearby shops and restaurants.

  • "We have just had a fantastic week staying in The Arched House in Lyme Regis."

    The location is fantastic, being a few minutes from the sea front and right next to the bakery! The facilities within the house are superb and they have thought of everything. The kitchen is well equipped and it was so good to be somewhere everyone could sit around the table and eat together. The beds are extremely comfortable and what a treat for everyone to have their own bathroom! I would highly recommend and would happily return again.

  • "The house was in a wonderful location, however the master bedroom at the front of the property was extremely noisy which made it difficult to sleep."

    The stairs in the property were steep and slippery and not particularly suitable for young children. It would have been useful to have another parking permit as we had 2 cars and worked out quite expensive in parking fees. It was well equipped and comfortable

  • "The Arched House was a very good home for a week for our family of ten."

    Beds, bathrooms, kitchen, sitting rooms and location were excellent. The stairs feel dangerous and uncomfortable and should be carpeted for comfort and safety. Parking in Lyme Regis is difficult. A house like this would expect at least two cars and so would benefit by providing two car park permits. We love Lyme Regis and will continue to come back but are somewhat dismayed by the loss of a pharmacy and post office. Please pass this on to the local authorities.

  • "We have stayed at this lovely house three times now and it never disappoints."

    . lots of space for children and adults to share. We cooked every night and the equipment was more than adequate. The whole house is so tastefully decorated without sacrifice of comfort. Shops and beach on the doorstep and excellent fish and chips a few minutes from the house!

    The attention to detail in this stunningly presented house meant our stay was perfect. This is my second visit… hopefully not my last! Ideally situated, being a two minute ( level ) walk from the beach and shops. I would highly recommend.

  • "We have spoken with the owner of the Arched House who were on vacation when we were there for 2 out of 3 weeks."

    We had problems especially with the trash & recycling and when we asked for help, “Chester” told us we’d be getting help which never materialized in Lyme Regis. When our trash began to leak and smell , we got help. The support personnel in Lyme was very good.

  • "A wonderful long weekend staying at The Arched House with friends."

    Fabulous location, only a few minutes from the sea. Next door to the Town Mill Bakery for morning pastries or for an eat-in brunch. The Arched House is beautiful. The kitchen is well equipped and the beds were comfortable. Lots of bathrooms too. The large kitchen diner is a wonderful space and the river runs underneath the window. We had requested all the beds were made up as singles and on arrival this had not been done, however a quick telephone call and someone was there in minutes to sort it out. There is no parking at the house but you are given a permit for a car park a few minutes walk away. We were able to pull up outside the house and quickly unload although you are blocking the road when you do this, however people didn't seem to mind. You won't need the car again as everything is on your doorstep. We would highly recommend a stay in this beautiful house.

  • "The property was excellent, as usual."

    However since the takeover of Lyme Bay Holidays by Sykes, the price charged has risen dramatically. This I'm sure is due to the Sykes taking the increase in price as increase in profit. I notice that there were a number of properties in Lyme Regis vacant for the half term holiday, maybe this was due to the increase in prices? Also the Arched house was not fully booked throughout August and price reductions were being offered. There needs to be a rethink Sykes, of your strategies, especially in the present financial climate. It shouldn’t be cheaper to go abroad than holiday here in UK. I look forward to a return to more reasonable prices next year as we would love to return.

  • "Beautiful house, very central and with fabulous rooms."

    There weren't any dishwasher tabs or washing up liquid when we arrived but owners were happy to provide them when asked. Loved the ability to request single beds be made up rather than doubles. Lots of bathrooms & loos...very useful for a big group. Parking permit was great as were the multiple sets of keys. Overall a wonderful house.
