  • "A very convenient location."

Property very clean (cleaners had done a great job) and bright and fairly well equipped. Unfortunately, both upstairs sinks were almost totally blocked and we needed to buy sink un-blockers to clear them. The battery had gone on the kitchen/diner clock. One of the curtains in the lounge had one ring off the rail and both curtains dragged substantially on the floor.

  • "This was our third visit to the Old Bakehouse."

We love it's central position and easy access to the seafront and town. We always feel at home the minute we walk in and the property is clean and presentable with everything we need for a perfect break away, and it's dog friendly. We certainly hope to stay again soon.

  • "First time we’ve ever stayed somewhere where part of the bath wasn’t connected."

So first time we used the bath we had a a flood through the ceiling. This blew the electricity upstairs and also the sockets in part of the kitchen so we couldn’t use kettle or anything in kitchen. Fridge was full of food and switched off for 14 hours. The plumber and electrician who came were lovely but didn’t arrive until more than 12 hours after the event. I rang emergency number which initially was answered in 20 minutes. My further phone call to say about the fridge being off wasn’t responded to at all. I stayed up until midnight waiting.

Thank you for your feedback. We are of course very apologetic that this has happened. It could not have possibly been anticipated. The call came through to our out of hours number at 22.45pm and it was confirmed that a contractor would attend first thing. A plumber and electrician were dispatched first thing and the issue was resolved but we of course appreciate the inconvenience caused. Property Owner

  • "Excellent positon for town and restaurants."

Spotlessly clean and well decorated. My only gripe would be lack of net curtains or similar due to close proximity of other properties, have to keep main curtains drawn in the daytime. Only a slight concern though and would not affect my rating or decision to stay there again. Could do with a canopy outside to stop the seagulls pooping on my head!!

  • "A lovely place to stay easy walk to the sea front."

The off road parking is a god send. Just a few niggles, the pots and pans were of low quality. And the sofas were quite low, okay if you're youngish, but a bit difficult getting up when you're older. All in all a enjoyable stay. Would recommend it, everyone in area really friendly.

  • "Whilst this cottage initially struck us rather more functional than characterful, we soon found it was perfect."

Everything works. An en-suite and main bathroom were both in excellent condition, plus a downstairs loo was a bonus. The beds were comfy enough. The location was perfect, a flat, short walk to everything. Being on the river and millstream is wonderful and we loved listening to the running water at night as we slept with the windows open. The enclosed safe, small garden space was perfect for a drink in the sun by the water and for our little dog between his longer walks. Parking just outside the house was ideal. We’d definitely stay here again. (This is our 6th holiday cottage we have tried in Lyme).

  • "Lovely warm house in great location."

Open plan and clean and fresh. The key box was not easy to open. I have used lots, but this was tricky. My husband managed to open it in the end. As it was Christmas I needed to buy a roasting tin as there were no baking trays in the house, only the one tray in the oven. I realised this on Christmas Eve and the wonderful Arthur Ford ironmongers was open! The oven gets hotter at the front so food needs to be turned half way through cooking. The dishwasher didn't clean the crockery well, possibly it was due to the dishwasher tablets provided. Would have preferred a washer dryer over a dishwasher due to getting muddy on dog walks! Good to have parking. The people who live opposite park their car in front of the Old Bakehouse corner space. We just used the right hand Old Bakehouse space. One night another car managed to park diagonally in the corner space which could have made it tricky to reverse our car out. Another night and day there was a car parked in front of the house front door (where the info says not to park). Parking not a problem in Winter, but could be difficult in the busy Summer. Would love to stay here again.

We are sorry to hear that the property didn't have a roasting tray as this is a standard inventory item. We would have provided one for you if contacted as we keep a small stock at the office for emergencies. The property does have the benefit of two parking spaces, and we are sorry to hear that you experienced issues with other people parking inconsiderately. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

Lyme Regis is a lovely town with much to do and some great restaurants. Baboo Ice Cream rates a special mention. Get some! The radiator in the downstairs loo appears to have a small, slow leak

  • "There were a few issues which should have been checked prior to our arrival."

I contacted Sykes about the major ones which were rectified. The sofa bed was broken which meant we couldn't sit on it for the first day and most of the second. The leak in the cloakroom radiator should have been noticed when the property was cleaned prior to our arrival and the lights checked as a few weren't working. Sykes were efficient and sent someone from maintenance to fix the sofa bed and some of the lights and explained that the other issues would be fixed after our stay. Good service from Sykes and maintenance. The terrace was a let down as there was rubbish in the corner bed which was also full of weeds. The paving slabs had lots of weeds growing through and we found plastic and other rubbish which our dogs could have eaten. It wasn't pleasant and meant we couldn't sit out and relax. The king size bed was extremely comfortable and we both slept well. Both bathrooms are good and the showers excellent. The kitchen was well equipped and we appreciated the lovely welcome pack. If the terrace was weeded and cleaned we would definitely stay again as overall we had a lovely holiday enjoying all that Lyme Regis has to offer so close by. The property location and parking is an asset and it was nice to be able to walk everywhere.

We were pleased to assist you with the small maintenance issues. The patio is on a schedule for weeding and we have passed on your comments to the gardener for attention. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

All the facilities that we would need and an amazing Welcome Pack - very welcome after travelling down from London by train with our 2 dogs! It is so easy to access the town, beach and riverside walks from the cottage. We will definitely be back!

It's always lovely to hear that our guests felt a warm welcome upon arrival. Apologies that we didn't leave you any blue bags to put the dirty linen into, and we will check the rubbish information to ensure that it's clear. We look forward to welcoming you back again for another holiday. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

We had a wonderful stay here. Such a beautiful home and the location is amazing! The house is very cosy with lovely modern decor. A really fab weekend away, being able to take our Sausage dog was perfect too! This was our 3rd time staying here and we cannot wait to go again in this summer.

  • "Great holiday home."

A bit of trouble parking one evening when someone was parked in our space, and someone parks in front of the other space making it impossible to get into, but that’s the only issue. Fortunately a neighbour let us park in their space until the person moved out of our space. Maybe some pillars in front would help (like the metal pillar in front of the old Bakehouse, so no one unauthorised parks there). The back door in not sure cute as the deadbolts don’t actually screw into place as the door has dropped slightly. However, this is the second time we have stayed in this house so these are very minor points. We would stay in this place again.
