  • "This is really a little Jem for anyone walking the South West Coastal Path."

Perfectly situated for us to complete the section of Hartland between Bude and Bideford. After a hard days walking 'Shipload Cottage' was a welcome return A warm, cosy and welcoming place. My brothers dog Pip also loves the place, with welcoming biscuits and being able to run in the owners Ian and Ali's adjacent woods.

  • "The property was very pleasant warm and comfortable."

There is everything you could need included. It is definitely dog friendly with flooring that the dogs don't slip on, dog towels available and a hosepipe to clean them after muddy walks. We used these things a lot as it was a rainy holiday. We loved the convenience of the little enclosed garden which was very pretty as well as useful for the dogs to have a wander in. Watching birds on the feeder was also fun. The woodland walk on the property looked lovely, with bridges and boardwalks. There are lots of walks within easy reach or a short drive. The owners could not have been more helpful during our stay. Guiding us to good walks, beaches, eateries and opticians when a pair of spectacles were broken. A pleasant place to stay.
