  • "Very pleasant place to stay."

Peaceful. Well equipped. Everything that we needed was there.

  • "The lodge is very well equipped and comfortable which is why we chose it a second time."

However there are a few tiny niggles. The shower floors are quite slippery so provision of a small grab rails and rubber mats would be helpful for those unsteady on their feet. A small ouside covered bin for dog poo would be useful. There is a sharp edge on the top corner of the radiator at the bottom of the double bed on which I caught my clothes several times tearing a hole in one shirt. There were some issues with the TV this time.. Lost Freeview and had ro contact the owner who sorted the probkem quickly. Then we lost Netflix..and couldn't get subtitles up at all. which normally are easily found A basic guide on how to solve these issues would be helpful as yous don't sant to disturb the owner if it"s late evening. These things aside the lodge provides excellent accommodation which we would use again without hesitation.

  • "A lovely lodge in a fantastic setting."

A good position on the site too, right next to a stream, very pretty and peaceful. This lodge is 4* to me and has every essential included for a comfortable stay with dogs allowed too. The site is central to exploring Cornwall with excellent beaches within a 30 min drive and lots of tourist attractions nearby. Highly recommend and would definitely book again if staying in the area.

  • "The accommodation was so well equipped for families, from tv, to games, to all the kitchen equipment and hair drier etc."

nothing was missed and we felt really at home. The small table lamp bulb needed replacement upstairs in the lounge but everything else was just perfect and clean. We were really grateful for everything and we will recommend.

  • "We had such a lovely time in your lodge."

...everything you could possibly need and wow the bed is so comfortable! The only thing I would say is there needs to be more poo bins around the site but other than that it was perfect thank you!!

  • "I was happy with the stay."

I would have expected some Kitch Towels to start with but once I bought them it was all good.

  • "We loved our stay."

The only thing we wished we had was a clothes horse / airer to dry washed clothes.

  • "Callington is a great holiday location."

The lodge was spotless and cosy, spacious with treats too. We enjoyed a local carvery. Some local areas were closed as Easter break started later but joined NAT trust - cotehele is close by. Great holiday destination - Cornish roads are quite the adventure!

  • "The lodge and holiday village were lovely."

The lodge was let down by the grubbiness of the outside space, particularly the decking itself on both levels and the furniture at ground level. Very grubby and lots of cobwebs. We tried to brush but the broom head came off. Also, the upstairs outside space was photographed with table and chairs outside for dining. This was not there. Plenty of seating but all different to the photographs and dining outside was only possible on laps. A bit disappointing given the lovely weather we’ve had.

Thank you for taking the time to complete your feedback. It is a shame that you did not make us aware of the issues at the time of your holiday, we would have tried our very best to rectify things during your stay. Interior and outdoor furniture can vary, during times of refurbishment. The property is undergoing some planned maintenance work over the winter months. Property Owner

  • "We had no WiFi for 4 days and was refunded a reasonable amount which I wasn't expecting."

Also, I had no barbecue and was told I could purchase disposable ones which was fine. Later that day 2 barbecues appeared on our patio. My experience is that they have gone above and beyond with our stay. Would certainly return. Number 41 was home from home

The lodge is the perfect place as a base to tour Cornwall and Devon with a beautiful place to come back to every night, the camp is so tranquil and friendly we couldn't have asked for anything more. AMAZING AND WE LOVED IT ❤ We will definitely be back soon.

Great complex facilities the shop and pub not overly priced either. Great base for a holiday as there are so many places to visit nearby. Owners were extremely helpful too!!

  • "It was everything we expected and more."

Such a great location to go out for the day as most things are within a couple of hours. You catered for the weather as well with games, dvd player and books which was perfect for us. There was only two of us but could have easily taken the family and not got in each others way. Loved the balcony off the lounge. Will hopefully return some day.

About the location

CALLINGTON

Tavistock 9 miles; Launceston 11.5 miles; Plymouth 14.6 miles.

Callington is a Cornish market town, rich in mining heritage and overlooked by Kit Hill, the highest point in the area, donated to the people of Cornwall by Prince Charles to celebrate the birth of Prince William. From the top of Kit Hill there are fabulous views across south-east Cornwall as far as Plymouth Sound. Callington is set in the heart of the Tamar Valley, an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty, and offers a good selection of shops, inns and cafes, as well as being the home of Ginsters Cornish pasties. A few miles away, the quaint village of Calstock clings to the steep banks of the river Tamar and is dominated by the splendid Calstock Railway Viaduct, a giant 11-arched stone construction supporting one of Britain’s most picturesque branch lines running through the Tamar Valley. Other interesting places along the river are Cotehele, a beautiful historic house and gardens owned by the National Trust with a small quay and inn, and Morwhellam Quay, a theme park that staged a living history production for the BBC and where visitors can explore the rich mining heritage and watch blacksmiths, potters and craftsmen at work. The pannier market town of Tavistock is only nine miles from Callington and is well worth a visit on your way to a day’s walk on Dartmoor. A splendid base to explore south Cornwall and West Devon.
