Higher Witheven Farm Cottages, Cornwall
Launceston 10.8 miles. These adjoined, stone barn conversions rest in a quiet, countryside location, with no traffic noise and uninterrupted views across open farmland, some 10 miles from the ancient Cornish town of Launceston. The cottages are set at the end of a country lane on a 130-acre sheep and cattle farm in Canworthy Water, within easy reach of the breath-taking North Cornish coast. If you are looking for a place to relax and unwind with your family or a group of friends, look no further than Higher Witheven Farm, where you have your own private gardens in which to soak up the country atmosphere and occasionally listen to the sounds of a new born, bleating lamb in springtime. They have each been lovingly converted, with two bedrooms, en-suite bathrooms, wooden floors and vaulted ceilings for a character feel. Choose to eat alfresco-style in your private garden space and invite your family friends to enjoy a feast together off the barbecue, washed down with a chilled bottle of wine on a warm summer's evening. Explore all the delights of Cornwall and the North Devon area, with fabulous beaches, historic sites and wonderful opportunities for walking and cycling. Head to the inviting town of Launceston and find the ruins of a Norman castle, fine Georgian buildings and numerous places to dine out, while Bude also offers plenty of restaurants, gift shops and Heritage Centre at Bude Castle. The chocolate-box town of Padstow is also worth a visit, as is Plymouth, The Eden Project and the Lost Gardens of Heligan, each offering different days out to be enjoyed by all. This is a tranquil base from which to explore an inspiring region of the UK.
