The property

Surrounded by lovely countryside in the tiny Dartmoor hamlet of Wonson, alongside a small, friendly pub a lane-mile from Throwleigh is The Bolthole.

This lovely converted barn has been laid out with great care, and is light and airy with lots of thoughtful, homely touches.

The smart and spacious kitchen and dining area has everything you'll need to cater for the family, and leads to the living room with handsome original beams and a wood burning stove.

Upstairs the two bedrooms have vaulted ceilings and pretty fabrics make them feel warm and inviting.

At the back is a neat lawned garden and sitting out area with table, chairs and barbecue and to the front parking for one car.

In nearby Chagford, a perennially popular, lively little town away from main roads in the shelter of high Dartmoor, there are pubs, shops and an outdoor swimming pool.

Past it the River Teign hurries through woods and meadows below the imposing Castle Drogo (National Trust) on the hills above.

Further afield the cathedral city of Exeter has plenty of amenities and a fascinating and historic past - spend the day shopping, dining or visit the picturesque quay.

For fun in the sun, the beaches of south Devon are about 20 miles away.

Note: This property has a Good Housekeeping bond of £100.
