"Beautiful apartment just a shame about the scaffolding but otherwise perfect."
-
"Poor! We weren’t notified of building works and had to put up with living on a building site on our holiday."
There was no privacy as the workmen could see into the kitchen and lounge. The garden was locked off, and we booked this with the main criteria being a garden with having dogs. Overall a holiday from hell. With little to no support from the owner and no support whatsoever from Sykes. Will never book again.
Thank you for your feedback. My sincere apologies that Sykes didn’t inform you about the maintenance work being carried out. As you were aware (via our Housekeeper) I was in touch with Sykes to try to expedite a solution. I understand that Sykes offered you the opportunity to move to another property or compensation, neither of which you were happy to accept. Once again I can only apologise that Sykes didn’t inform you about the maintenance work. Property Owner

The apartment was very good nice and clean and all we needed the patio left a little to be desired was quite shabby needs a bit of a clean up
Thank you for your positive feedback. As you were aware, there is currently maintenance work being carried out at the back of the property which impacts on the patio area. Once completed this will return to normal. Property Owner

"Lovely holiday and stunning views."
Parking was a nightmare ,people parking over the entrance all week so parents that are elderly had difficulty getting passed. The sink in the bathroom the cold tap was a very poor flow .

"House was dirty."
Stuff was broken but maintenance came out once we reported it. Lovely decorated place but needs something doing with front of property & pation area is not pretty but views are lovely
Hi Donna Thank you for your feedback. I was very surprised to hear that the apartment was dirty as it’s always spotless when we have visited and I haven’t had any other complaints about cleanliness. I have emailed you asking if you can send me more details around your comments so that we can investigate further. Suzie Property Owner

"The property was lovely."
It was far nicer than the photos led you to believe. The space and view were the best we have had staying in the UK. The description on the website needs to be updated to include all the facilities as there is no mention of a tumbledryer or coffee machine. The patio was being cleaned when we arrived, but just the piece to the left of the property, looking from the patio doors. Unfortunately the main part wasn't cleaned and the mud from the patio was left across the bottom so you couldn't walk out without shoes on.
Hi Thanks for your feedback and I’m glad you liked our property. Re the patio, I’m not sure what had happened as I was there the previous week and it was OK. However the poor weather may have caused something to be brought in by the sea and can only apologise if this was the case. I can’t comment about the side area of the patio being cleared (it may have been the owner of flat 2)? Thank you for taking the time to feedback to us. Property Owner

"One of the nicest holiday homes I have stayed in."
My family had a fantastic holiday, the apartment was beautiful with everything you could want for. The view was amazing with the constant smell and sound of the sea making it so relaxing. We even spotted dolphins from the veranda! Liked it so much we have booked for next year.
Hi Chris So glad you enjoyed your holiday and look forward to seeing you next year. Suzie Property Owner

"Excellently decorated, furnished and equipped, all making for a wonderful stay."
As if that were not enough, the view was stunning - so relaxing just to sit and look out across the Bristol Channel framed by the rocky coastline. We all loved it
Thank you for your kind feedback, we are glad you loved it! Property Owner

"Stunning apartment and very well equipped."
Very spacious and tastefully decorated. The outside space was superb with amazing views and sun most of the day in June. Some pint glasses and a shaver point would have been handy but they are the only thing. Parking for small car only but Rover permit at £50 a week available online with plenty of car parks close by and you can use at a lot of other places too. Excellent holiday and Ilfracombe itself is great.
Thank you for your very useful feedback and we are glad you liked the apartment and outside space. We will invest in some pint glasses. We are pleased you enjoyed your holiday and hope to see you back again sometime in the future. Suzie Property Owner

Had a fabulous week in the apartment… It’s in a perfect position for the harbour and town centre… If we were to return to Ilfracombe I would definitely book this apartment again

"Lovely apartment with great furnishings and bedding, nice and stylish very comfortable and a wonderful place to stay whatever the weather."
Everything seems to have been thought off and all the furnishings, etc. are good quality and in good condition. The parking space is quite tight and not for the fainthearted however, there is in midseason and for parking in town and sometimes for free overnight Ilfracombe is a lovely Town with lots of eating and drinking options we had a lovely meal up the hill Behind the harbor in the lime kiln. My elderly mother found the access steps with the overhang, a bit challenging.
Hi Claire, We are glad you had a lovely time and hope to see you back in the future. S Property Owner

"What an awesome week away in this beautiful holiday apartment."
No 1Cheyne Beach is so spacious and airy with lovely decor. The kitchen is fantastic and the whole place is spotlessly clean. The veiws outside the rear of the property are amazing. Quite possibly the best sykes property we have stayed in over the last ten years. The location is great too. The town, harbour and coastal path just a stroll away. Woolacombe Beach, just 6 mile away is gorgeous and our border collie Jac loved it there. All in all a fabulous stay and we will definitely be back. Many thanks Kobe McNamara.
Thanks Kobe for such a lovely review. We are pleased that you had a great week and look forward to seeing you again. Property Owner

"Very nice apartment in a central location."
Very newly decorated and lovely furniture and beds. Great view of the sea from the living areas. Quiet. The bedrooms were by the road and as below ground level meant little air came in through the windows and so were stuffy. The third bedroom didn’t even have a window at all. Felt slightly damp in the bedrooms. This was the only negative and would put us off slightly from booking again
Hi Mark We are sorry you felt that there was insufficient air in the bedrooms. We haven’t experienced this ourselves and stay at the apartment quite frequently. As regards the slight damp feeling, I wonder if this is because the heating hadn’t been on for a while. I will ensure we put it on the day before guests arrive in future to prevent this, but again we haven’t experienced this. Property Owner

"Thoroughly enjoyed our week and slept in the most comfortable bed ever in a holiday rental."
-
"Beautifully furnished and very comfortable."
We have a concern that the property description refers to steps down to the rocks. These steps are extremely dangerous and in fact there is a sign saying that they should not be used. We think that the property description should be amended as this access was an attractive feature to us. The gate at the top of the steps should be padlocked as one morning the gate had blown open and the warning sign was not visible.
Dear Victoria, We are sorry that you felt that the description of the steps on the Sykes website to be inaccurate - however, it was clearly stated that people use the steps at their own risk. In light of your feedback we have instructed Sykes to amend the description which they have now done. Since your stay, the steps have been cemented so they are no longer loose or uneven. We are glad you found the apartment well furnished and very comfortable. S Property Owner

"The holiday home and view were stunning, could not have asked for anything more!"
! Only download side of the property was the parking BUT we got lucky with sports outside the apartments xx
Hi Kerry We do provide parking (but I acknowledge it is a small space, which is why we have stated that it is only suitable for a small or medium car). We have also suggested that guests use the general car parks in the centre of Ilfracombe which are only a 5 minute walk from the apartment. I'm glad the rest of the apartment met your needs.
