  • "Positives The lodge was very well equipped, clean and the bed was super comfy."

Even a bottle of bubbly and milk there for you, tea, coffee etc, lots of games etc, well thought through Negatives, the windows were very dirty, the fridge door rack was broken, the internal doors were temperamental and the shower was powerless That being said, it was a lovely place to stay and we had a lovely time

  • "A lovely restful stay in this wonderful cottage, clean and quiet amid the Somerset countryside."

Enjoyed watching wild rabbits on the lawns. Cottage owner very helpful when we suffered a medical incident unrelated to the cottage. Pub and pub garden at bottom of the cottage drive is in a beautiful setting with a stream running by.

  • "The location was lovely and peaceful with rabbits hopping around everywhere."

The garden was ideal for our two dogs because there was plenty of space for them to run around playing ball. Whilst it was great having a television in every room it would have helped if the reception had been better - the picture kept breaking up and I had to resort to watching programmes on my laptop. In addition if one wanted to use a mobile phone it was necessary to go out into the garden as there was no signal inside. However, despite these drawbacks we thoroughly enjoyed our week's stay at High Lodge but the inclusion of a visitors' book would be a good idea so comments could be added.

  • "This is a lovely property that has been finished to a high standard."

We had a very comfortable stay at High Lodge and I would recommend it. There are lots of great dog walks close by and the large garden was appreciated by our dog. The only thing that I would suggest is to improve the kitchen equipment as it is quite limited. The addition of a mixing bowl, some additional cooking pans and a bottle opener would be welcome. There is so much wonderful produce in Somerset I like to cook when we are away, which is why we book cottages and this was restricted this time by the lack of kitchen equipment.

  • "Lovely property - clean and spacious, wonderful grounds."

This was our second time renting this accommodation as it’s so good! Having the pub close by is a great feature - it’s not so close that there’s any noise disturbance though. Plenty of dog walking opportunities and lots to do in the area. Cleeve Abbey is worth a visit (dog friendly and within a short walking distance from the property). There is a DVD player in the lounge and TVs in every room. Kitchen is reasonably well equipped. BBQ is old but serviceable (it’s charcoal, not a gas one). All in all a super place to stay.

Lots to see and do in the area especially with dogs, which was a bonus. Thank you

  • "Great property , really loved it and position was great would definitely go there again, super place with some nice touches such as prosecco left in fridge , cider, and choccy biscuits."

    - but would say- Property needs kitchen scales. Outside sun umbrella needed. The outside chairs were filthy. Be out by 10,00 too early if you are older and slower.

  • "Lovely airy property."

Very high quality. Comfortable beds. Somerset area is very dog friendly - beaches, pubs, cafes, shops... Large outside area to property probably dog secure but large perimeter made it difficult to be sure. Property very private and quiet. Local pub across the road - good food but popular. Wifi reception good. No dvd/blu-ray/smart tv. TV has Freeview channels. Would recommend a stay here.

  • "Lovely property, good facilities, would have liked shower pressure to be better but we had a comfortable stay, our dog loved all the space to run and the White Horse pub close by was wonderful, friendly people great food and beer."

  • "This was our second visit to High Lodge and our feedback is much the same."

A beautiful property but some niggles. The property sleeps four people but has a two slice toaster, one medium sized frying pan, etc. A few more cleaning products would be useful.
