"All in all we had a lovely stay at kiln cottage,it’s in a brilliant location and Combe Martin is a wonderful place and so close to lots of other wonderful places!"
The bed was so comfy as was the sofa and the shower was amazing! The area is peaceful and so many sweet birds to watch out of the window!
The cottage itself just needs a few improvements to give it that last star.
Firstly the towels- remember that scene from Gavin and Stacey where Pamela doesn’t want to stay at Gwens because of the towels ‘like drying myself with a ryvita’ well that!!
Secondly there is a lovely big smart telly but they have no streaming platforms downloaded to it, only iplayer is accessible. They haven’t connected the freeview and use an old sky box so there isn’t many channels- of course in warmer weather this isn’t too much of an inconvenience but on a cold rainy October evening it would be nice to have more options of things to watch- especially considering they have made the effort of including a lovely big telly!
Thirdly curtains or blinds are needed in the living area and bathroom- the bedroom has curtains but the kitchen window would really benefit from curtains as it would make it feel a bit more cosy and the bathroom defo needs a blind!!
Lastly the carpet into the bedroom was coming away from underneath the metal carpet door strip and the screws were poking out of the top of it which was a bit painful if you caught your feet!
Just a few niggles to be rectified and kiln cottage will be perfect.
We would still stay again!

1/ Settee to low
2/ Would help with a small hand rail on landing to hold onto when coming out of bathroom, if you lose balance you could end up going down the stairs

"Lovely cottage situated in a very quiet spot and just a minute from the High Street."
Turning into the cottage, as previously noted, is very tight so relieved we had a small car! The cottage is well equipped and we had everything we required for our stay. As usual, for us, we were unable to work the television although this wasn't really required, however we would have liked some music so it would be lovely to have more instructions on how to operate this! Also we struggled to turn the heating down as it kept returning to the original settings but not a major problem. The cottage is perfectly situated for exploring the north devon coast which we did in abundance! We would definitely recommend this cottage to anyone wishing to visit this area.

"Lovely cosy cottage, has everything you need, only a 10/15 minute walk to the sea front, some great pubs nearby, a visit to the Top Chippy and Bobbies Bakes is a must!"
As previous comments, yes the driveway is tight as you turn right towards the property, but so are most of the costal roads in Devon, we had no problem in our transit van (turn right when you see the sign for Hams Place).
The wi-fi is excellent, the bed is very comfy and towels are provided, it's a quiet location, in a small village and having fresh flowers, milk and scones was a lovely touch when we arrived.

Excellent cottage with a well equipped and modern interior. Everything inside was spotlessly clean. Beds and bedding good quality and gave us a good nights sleep.
As per previous reviews access to the cottage takes care as narrow with a tight turn. As located off the main road is very quiet.
Local shops and pubs within easy walking distance.
Flowers and cream tea upon arrival much appreciated.

"We had a lovely stay as a family of 4 at Kiln Cottage which catered well for our needs."
The accommodation was warm and spacious, the beds were comfortable and the shower was decent. It was ideally located to visit lots of local attractions. As we did lots of cooking the only thing we found lacking was the need for a decent chopping board.

"Kiln cottage was a nice and cosy place to stay with enough room for a family of 5."
The turning into the cottage is very tight (as stated in the details for the cottage). We arrived to a yummy scone and cream along with milk, tea, coffee and sugar which was perfect after a six hour drive. Information was left for using the facilities. Plenty of towels and very comfy beds.
Combe Martin is very nice with tea rooms and gift shops. We mainly drove out to go to the beach (Woolacombe and Saunton Sands) as we prefer sandy beaches to the rocky one in Combe Martin itself. Overall a pleasant stay and already looking to come back to Devon again best year!

There is indeed a tight entrance but our Megane managed it well. The surrounding area is beautiful and peaceful as was the cottage. We enjoyed Exmoor, Lorna Doone country, the Lynton/ Barnstable steam railway where we were visited in the skies by a White Tailed Sea Eagle, very exciting! The neighbours were friendly as were locals. We had a super week location wise but will not return as we like to experience other areas.

"Lovely cottage, very clean and tidy."
Perfect for our needs as a couple and the time of year. Only suitable for maximum of 3 adults, due to third bedroom being bunk beds, however this is stated in the write up. We would have liked a blind in the bathroom due to this window (although obscured glass) being at the front of the house. There is a patio to the side of the property, but this is not very private. However, being the time of year (March) we didn't use this. The garden is not usable as stated in the write up. There is a pathway to the other side of the property which other neighbours have access to and goes directly past the lounge window. All in all a great base for walking and the nearby coastal paths in North Devon and visiting nearby Exmoor

"Lovely clean cottage, it smelt so fresh as we stepped through the door."
Plenty of space for a family of 4. Shower was powerful. Sofa was comfy (squashy but comfy, despite what previous reviewers may say!).
Upon arrival we had fresh flowers and a cream tea waiting for us which was a lovely touch.
Location was good - we could walk to the beach in under 15 minutes with our 5 and 7 year olds, and we did several of the local walks (little hangman was our favourite) straight from the door. There is a lack of pavements around there so may not be ideal for younger children.
Overall, we would definitely recommend this cottage and wouldn’t hesitate to stay again!

Previous comments re the sofa will be down to personal preference - we found them comfy.
Agree regarding the previous comment on the cutlery - they could be improved.
A few other comments that would improve the experience:
- a bigger (or more) chopping boards.
- invest in some chopping knives (only found a bread knife and a serrated knife).
- washing up brush would have been useful.
- a bigger toaster that holds 4 slices.
- an ice cube tray for the freezer.
Hope that doesn't sound too harsh!

"We were unable to get in touch with the owner on our first night, then next day no hot water there son came to check boiler and got it going."
Like previous customers the settees are very uncomfortable especially for someone with a bad back like my husband. The entrance is really tight if you have a long car like our a Mercedes 220 my husband has driven large plant machinary so even he found it difficult, on inspecting the car we now have plenty of scratches down one side from the overhanging shrubs from thd left hand side of the lane. The entrance off the main road onto Water Lane is tight too but easier if go past and turn round at the pub and come back on yourself.
We left on the Thursday losing two nights because of the discomfort of the sofas. This will be the last booking we will make with you as we were also disappointed with last years cleanliness of the cottage we had at Portknockie. Plus we had problems with payments for Kiln Cottage.
