"Positives: None Negatives: Upstairs floorboards everywhere creak very LOUDLY, every time you get up in the night everybody else is woken up Gravel patio (very small), paths and parking area full of weeds Parking is for 2 very small cars and no dropped curb Street maybe a cul de sac but it seems to be free public parking for all and sundry In need of a lot of tlc, dirty windows and bottom of shower screen door horrible."
I had to clean the dining table as it was full of smears. Light switch in hall taped up? No recycling and other people seem to be using the commercial bin, found a full size suitcase in it during our stay 2 gates in the patio area, one went into a private garden of another property? Not well equipped, had to buy 2 wine glasses as only 2 and 1 was cracked and a measuring jug. A mis match of glasses and crockery. This property is supposed to be for 6 people Hoover doesn’t pick up Downstairs toilet door scraped on the floor Fridge freezer heavily frosted up No instructions for the washer/dryer Some of these issues already been raised previously but not addressed It feels like we were in a different property to some of the other reviewers! This is not 4 ticks, we left 2 days early!
The booking was for 2 people. It is nonsense to claim the floorboards creaked waking “everyone else up” 2 parking spaces in Lyme is unusual because parking in Lyme is in short supply. Obviously, we do not control parking on the street The windows were cleaned professionally on the 3rd of September The property is fully equipped. On re-entering the property we noticed several glasses had been broken and had not been completely swept up. None of these “issues “ were raised at the time as is so often the case when complaints are made up. None of our guests has previously spent their holiday checking the contents of the commercial bin. If she left 2 days early it seems likely this was for personal reasons not related to the property Property Owner

"We had an amazing time at the Coach House."
The accommodation was lovely and spacious, with three adults and two children, we all had plenty of room without living on top of one another. We all felt that everything was catered for. Only one negative; on three occasions when we came back from a day out we found we couldn’t get onto the drive because a car had parked across it. Perhaps putting a sign up might stop this from happening in the future. However it didn’t spoil our week away. Thank you Sykes Cottages for a fantastic week.

"Sandra was the perfect host."
We had a lovely stay and the house had all we needed for our rainy stay over Easter. Everything was clean and comfortable and the location was spot on for easy access to the town. The beds were comfortable and the road quiet. Will definitely want to stay again!

"The Coach House was well presented."
The only couple of things I would recommend is more than one towel per person, should have a towel for hair too. Instructions for everything except the washer/dryer would be helpful. Also the instructions about the use of the property could have been a bit more friendly, they were quite dictatorial

"The upstairs floor is very creaky and noisy."
The Downstairs toilet door doesn’t latch and scraped on the floor. Fridge freezer heavily frosted up and needed defrosting. Kitchen worktop around toaster not cleaned, lots of crumbs. Empty raw chicken container left on top of rubbish bin in kitchen. Not enough glasses and crockery. Outside space needs some maintenance.

"I had to use the plunger to unclog the shower tray and I also had to try with less success to clear out the plug in the bathroom sink."
Both were severely blocked. Not a very nice job. I used the vacuum cleaner a couple of times because there seemed to be a lot of pet hair on the rug in the lounge - the machine wasn’t really strong enough to pick up the fluff or hair - I wasn’t sure what it was really - the children didn’t want to play on the floor because of it. Otherwise I thought the house was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. It was nice and spacious.

"Perfect location and perfect size for 4 of us plus our dog."

"A lovely property, very small garden."
Because of covid we had to remove the bottom sheet and duvet plus pillowcases I was shocked to see the condition of the pillow protector in my opinion it should also be removed, I however took my own pillows. We had a lovely stay, it was well equipped.

"The Coach House has been done to a very high standard and we couldn’t fault the interior."
It was very comfortable for the two of us and was extremely clean. It’s in a very quiet location with lovely sea views from the bedroom. A steep walk on return, which would be difficult for many, but we knew this in advance. The main drawback was it lacked many of the essentials which seemed a bit mean considering how well it had been redone. There was only just enough cutlery, mugs, kitchen equipment. A few dishwasher tablets, no spare bin bags. And the only place we’ve ever been where there was no welcome pack. It stated there was no washing machine and we were prepared for that. However, there was a washer/ dryer which wasn’t working. Seems a shame it hadn’t been repaired, replaced or removed.

"We had a great stay during half term."
House is brilliantly located for visits to Lyme Regis. The beds were super comfy, as was the sofa. Great bathroom and kitchen. Lots of space. Great view from the back bedroom. Lots of equipment for self caterering which we did, only thing we found we needed was kitchen scales and a measuring jug which I appreciate most won't use but it was pancake Day
