  • "We had a great time at The Lookout."

Perfect location for the harbour end of Lyme. The property was toasty warm which was much appreciated. The cooking facilities were first class, we loved the dinner service too. A bonus was that we could park our car in Ozone Terrace free of charge for the week.

  • "We very much enjoyed our stay at The Lookout."

The owners have provided a very comfortable upside down cottage with all mod cons. There really wasn't anything else that was needed. A gift bag of goodies is a lovely touch, and very tasty. Our only comment would be that the property could do with a thorough clean, whilst on the surface all was well, the kitchen cupboards & handles were very grubby and some of the crockery & cutlery still had dried on food. Probably from the previous renters not checking after emptying the dishwasher. We visited in November and were lucky to have a week of sunshine. Perfect for some stunning sunrises and beautiful walks. Also parking was easy, as we were able to book a space in the b&b accommodation directly behind the property which was a bonus.

  • "Beautiful place to stay with amazing views, the only downside for my wife and I was that we had the box room which was fine but the beds were very uncomfortable with the smallest, thinnest duvet."

We're pleased that you enjoyed your stay and will take a look at the duvets in the small bedroom. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Overall, the property was fantastic, really clean and tidy and well equipped."

The only reason I haven’t given it full marks was because the bed in the second bedroom is quite hard and uncomfortable. We are not used to that sort of bed. I suppose I would suggest a topper, which might make it more comfortable. We were able to pay for a weeks parking (£70) right next door to the lookout which was very useful.

Thankyou for your feedback. Really useful to hear. We will invest in a mattress topper as you suggest for that second bedroom since I am sure there are others like you who are not so used to quite such a firm mattress. For information we are this month installing a new pocket sprung mattress (and topper!) in the master bedroom. Once again thank you for taking the time to feedback. Property Owner

  • "Property is wonderfully located for a stay in Lyme Regis / The Jurassic Coast."

We passed lots of lovely hours sitting at the breakfast bar/ window watching the ocean - beautiful! Clearly lots of thought and effort had gone into equipping The Lookout with amenities to ensure a successful holiday - the kitchen in particular had literally everything gadget / appliance you could ask for, and the TV set up was impressive! The welcome gift bag was a generous and thoughtful addition - thank you! In terms of feedback for improvements, the bed & mattress in the main bedroom (with ensuite) desperately needs replacing. I'm an average/athletic build chap (ie. Not overweight) but sleeping on the left side of the bed, I could literally feel the slats under my spine. The shower also needs a repair to allow it to be run colder - a hot shower isn't always welcomed after a long walk on a summer day! Finally, the listing should be more explicit re: the parking situation. Cobb Lane is a VERY steep hill about 1/4mile long, with the car park at the top, and the property at the bottom. You can only pay for 24hours at a time, so recommend using JustPark app to add more time each day rather than walking back and forth! (Also, £15 per day for parking soon mounts up. Maybe there's a deal to be struck with the owners of Undercliffe parking?)

Thank you so much for your constructive feedback. The mattress is actually only a year old but nevertheless, upon advice we are planning to replace it with a pocket sprung, and this is something that we will address as soon as possible. I am afraid you are right about the parking! This is something we have no control over and is a problem for many of the properties along the sea front. We are on the waiting list with Undercliffe for a permanent space but are apparently 15th on the waiting list! That being said they are the same price as the public car park during the summer so parking there would save the hill climb at least! Also worth noting that their prices, unlike the public car parks do go down in the winter months (1st Nov - 31st Mar). You can then park for just £3 a day. Once again we are so pleased that you enjoyed your stay and in particular the stunning views! Property Owner

  • "Third time we have stayed at The Lookout."

Wonderful as ever. The only negative I have is the lack of dining table (which there was first time we stayed) the two breakfast bar areas whilst lovely are not at all practical or comfy to sit at for a meal. Will be great if/when access to the roof area is available as being.in the roof space it gets so very hot in there. We’ll def be back next year

We're pleased that you have enjoyed your return stay, and will pass on your comments to the owners regarding the dining table. The external roof terrace is not currently accessible for guests due to a local planning restriction. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "Property was very well equipped and nicely furnished."

Fantastic position near the harbour, we loved being able to watch all the comings and goings. Though this may mean it is a bit noisey especially in the evenings in the very height of the season. 2nd bedroom is a bit snug when laid out as 2 singles, but the photos were accurate so we knew exactly what to expect. Superb welcome pack on arrival!

Thank you for your kind comments, we're pleased to hear that you enjoyed your stay. As the apartment is in such a prime position at The Cobb area of Lyme, and therefore the hussle and bussle of people increases at popular times of the year. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

  • "We loved The Lookout."

It is like a real home and very well equipped. All the furniture and fittings are good quality and the owner has thought of everything to make this a lovely holiday home. We loved the welcome pack of local produce. It is really close to the Cobb and a short walk to the beach and high street. A small niggle is that the lack of parking added £70 to the cost of the holiday. If you download the Just Park app at least you can extend parking without climbing the hill to the car park? Would definitely go back

  • "The Lookout is a beautiful property in a great location."

The decor is lovely throughout and it felt like a real home from home. Everything we needed was available to us with one very important exception. The weather was warm which made the accommodation stifling. Most of the windows didn’t open or only opened a fraction and there weren’t any fans. Upstairs in particular was really uncomfortable. I am so grateful we’re not staying there next week when a heatwave is forecast! It would have been so good to have been able to open the double doors to the roof terrace! We would definitely stay here again but in a colder month and would say the same to others.

Not realising there was no parking and the difficulty using the top car park was awkward especially when loading and unloading the car. The position of the house was excellent once the car was parked.
