"A delightful property in a perfect location to the beach."
It was great not having to worry about parking and carrying everything to the beach as we could simply nip back and forth from the cottage as needed. My boys enjoys the independence of doing this and the location of the nearest ice cream shop! The garden was also another bonus in the evening. We went at the end of the summer season and the property needs a good deep clean under the sofas and beds.

"This was our second year holidaying in Wayside with our daughter and her two young girls."
The property is in a perfect position and is a little oasis of calm so close to a very busy beach. The property itself is small but has lovely outside space with distant views. Our one quibble was the difficulties with the tv with no instructions in the book. It’s a shame that a dishwasher couldn’t have been incorporated somewhere. Also, I think that the property wasn’t as pristine as last year and lacked certain things. The false sunflowers cluttering up the middle of the room were superfluous and got in the way!

"We had a lovely holiday a few thongs would have made it better."
* the TV picture kept dropping out with the onscreen message stating a fault with the antenna connection. * we had problems locking the front door, key wouldn’t turn. * there was a fault with bathroom window latch loose with a screw missing. * the lawn could have done with a mow. * rear patio decking could have done with sweeping. Although none of these are big issues the rent for one week is quite expensive so a higher level of detail is required to meet expectations.

"Sent an enquiry regarding whether the EV charger listed as a facility in this property was actually working."
Was contacted quite quickly but with no answer! Also contacted Lyme Bay holidays who also did nothing. We couldn’t use the charger during our stay and I believe this should be removed from the list of facilities for this property as apparently the charger hasn’t been in use for some time. As this was one of the facilities we were most interested in I feel we were let down and neither company seemed bothered to help.

"A lovely property, in a great location, and we would stay again."
We chose this cottage on the basis that it has an EV charger, but unfortunately this was not working (as reported by a previous reviewer). I reported this on the Monday, but no attempt was made to resolve this, other than the response that the charging company had let them down.
Apologies that you experienced an issue with the EV charger. The owner has been trying to resolve the problem with the supplier, and we have removed it from the marketing until this can be resolved. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"The ev car charger was not working for us - we needed a card or for the charger to be registered onto an app allowing us access - neither of which was resolved during our stay."
This was the only reason we spent more money staying here so unfortunately I can't recommend the property as it was very expensive for what you got otherwise. It was clean (except the tumble dryer, and some seem to have struggled to wash dishes up properly previously), warm and comfortable. However none of the gates into the garden from the outside locked despite being given keys for them. Good location and easy to walk into Lyme Regis.
Unfortunately the property owner has experienced issues in setting up the charging app and has been trying to resolve this Please accept the owners apologies for the inconvenience. We will send out Maintenance Team to look at the garden gate lock. We hope you enjoyed your stay. The Lyme Bay Team Property Owner

"We were disappointed with our stay."
We had issues with the property, which were reported on our second day and weren't resolved until the day before we left. We reported that the underfloor heating was set to 30 degrees, making the house uncomfortably hot. A maintenance person came out and temporarily reduced the heating settings, but these reverted back to 30 degrees at 6am the next day. A second maintenance person came out on the following day and amended the heating settings again. We also reported that the TV reception was intermittent at best. The first maintenance person claimed to have fixed it but we could not see the result of this. The second person identified the issue and put in a request for it to be followed up. Therefore, it was not fixed during our stay. On the day before we left, we visited Lyme Bay offices to chase up the TV and heating repairs and also reported that the shower did not drain effectively and therefore for our entire stay we had to have quick and weak showers as the shower on full power would quickly flood the bathroom. We emailed customer services to also state that the general cleanliness of the property was not up to standard. For example, dirty crockery and kitchen items, hair in drawers and rugs, and dirty windows and garden furniture. There were other maintenance general issues, such as a light bulb not working and a wardrobe drawer that wouldn't open. There was a minimum of property-specific information. Factory issued manuals were provided, but it would have been helpful to have more personalised instructions on all we needed to know for a comfortable stay. This property was not cheap and we feel we paid a lot of money for location only.

"The property was a little gem and an oasis of calm from the very busy beach just a stone’s throw away."
We have stayed in Lyme Regis many times and this is one of the most perfect locations. The house is very comfortable, clean and well equipped (the exception being the lack of a dishwasher

"We loved this little island which is near by the beach but far away to be for ourselves."
We loved to have different places to sit, in the front yard (veranda 1) in the garden (veranda 2) and in the back - the terrace. We have a nice view to the bay area. The flat is very cozy and comfortable. We enjoyed all the days we stayed. Thank you very much for the lovely surprise, getting a bag with products from the region. We enjoy to come back again!
