The property was very clean and extensively equiped, making things very comfortable and wanting for nothing. One big plus was having a separate entrance hall where we could get our wet clothes/dirty boots off before entering the main rooms, especially welcome as the weather was poor. R & A Basingstoke

The rear views are superb and you can watch horses, cattle and sheep as well as raptors. One day we had a visit from a grey squirrel. There is just one point to make and given the wonderful rear views the double glazing has started to go milky, which detracts from photographs. The situation of the property means that it is only a few minutes to the railway line and steam train photos. Just the other side of Dawlish is the Smugglers Arms; absolutely superb food!

I had too at one point have to ask them to refrain from constantly running/chasing the younger children past my car (the space available where my car was parked was very narrow) of which some apologised and one gave me such a filthy look as if I had no right to challenge. Owner may hopefully look at running this type of party so it doesn't effect the hirer in such away.

About the location

DAWLISH WARREN

Dartmoor 13 miles; Exeter 11 miles; Teignmouth 5 miles; Dawlish 2 miles.

A couple of miles north east of the town of Dawlish is Dawlish Warren, a mile-long sand spit at the mouth of the River Exe on the stretch of south Devon coastline known as the English Riviera. Dawlish Warren has a selection of shops selling essentials, a golf course and a 55-acre nature reserve, an area of international importance for wildlife, and a roosting site for huge numbers of wading birds and wildfowl that winter on the estuary. The Nature Reserve is also home to more than 450 species of flowering plants including the rare Warren or Sand Crocus. Guided tours around the Reserve are available in the summer season. The beach at Dawlish Warren is a sandy Blue Flag beach backed by sand dunes and small lakes and stretches for miles to reach the Exe Estuary in one direction and Dawlish town in the other. A safe beach, lifeguarded in summer, provides a perfect place for seaside fun, and has many free, open-air events, children's entertainers and spectacular firework and air displays during the summer season. Dawlish Warren has a railway station on the Exeter to Newton Abbot line, one of the most scenic railway journeys in the country. Nearby there is much to occupy the visitor along the English Riviera coastline including Paignton Zoo, the Dartmouth Steam Railway, the picturesque fishing harbour of Brixham and the long pier and promenade at Teignmouth. A typically English seaside resort, great for family holidays at any time of year.

Note: Reduced rent available during the school summer holidays. A 3ft single bed can be made available if separate beds are required (by prior arrangement with the owner).

Note: For any holiday starting between 16th September and 27th May, a heating supplement of £20.00 will be added to the cost of your holiday.
