"We love it at Stable Cottage- been 4 times now."
It’s very clean, comfortable and very well equipped. The new bathroom suite is fantastic. Our only slight criticism would be the lack of recycling facilities. At home we take recycling very seriously but here all the rubbish went in the same bin. So we ended up taking it home. But all in all it was another great week in what has become our special place.
Thank you very much for your wonderful feedback. We are so pleased that you enjoy staying at Stable Cottage. We are currently looking into possible recycling options for the property and hope to improve this facility soon.

"This tiny cottage had everything we needed for our stay."
It was cosy, comfortable and immaculate !
The only thing which was slightly disappointing -the "outside space" was not quite as I envisaged ( maybe I have too much of an imagination), being basically garden chairs in the parking area!
However, as it happened, this did not detract from our late September stay, as the weather was not especially kind for a good deal of the time.
Fortunately, the cottage is conveniently situated, having a good traditional pub, The Kingfisher, only yards from the door

"The cottage was lovely no complaints there."
The bed was very uncomfortable and only had a small quilt cover.in the picture’s received by yourselves showed that stable cottage had a small back garden but it had nothing so very dissatisfied with that.we left on Xmas day because of the noise coming from next door banging furniture being moved just to much noise.overall disappointed over £600 spent will not recommend this.sorry for being harsh but the photos taken says a back garden but the photos were taken out the front.I thought that if my dog needed to go toilet I could let him out the back but for two nights running I had to go for a walk with him at stupid o’clock in the morning
Thank you for your feedback. I was sorry to hear that you found the bed to be uncomfortable but I am happy to report that we have now replaced it with a new, king sized bed and duvet.

"The cottage was beautifully decorated, furnished and presented."
The only gripe we had was that my wife found the bed very uncomfortable. The cottage is a quiet spot, despite being 100 metres from the market square.
The location is delightful: we enjoyed Colyton: interesting history and lovely architecture; good food options within walking distance. Walks out along the rivers and streams in every direction were great, and of course the tram link to Seaton, through the wildlife reserve is a highlight.

"It was a lovely property in a small quiet town with plenty of amenities, off road parking was perfect."
The cottage itself was nice, the bed was a little small and the mattress had seen better days and the shower was rubbish. A small vacuum would be helpful as we had a small dog with us and lots of the local walks were very muddy.

"Had a great holiday in Stable Cottage."
Colyton is a lovely village with everything you need for a weeks holiday. Downside of the cottage is no outside space apart from next to car parking space and poor water pressure for a shower . Apart from that everything very nice and loads of character which we enjoy. The local pub is really nice and 100 yards up the lane but really popular so you need to book if you want to eat. Can recommend.

Also as previous comments on improvements ie light bulb in entrance hall and bathroom need replacing we replaced the entrance hall one as pitch black returning later after days out.Information book need updating regarding bin location and information on local facilities and couldn't understand why previous pages in the guest book have been ripped out .The seating area wasn't really fit for purpose it is just a gravel car parking area.Critism aside a nice property set in a lovely village ideal to explore Devon.

"Stable Cottage is a lovely little bolthole, perfect for a couple and their four legged friend."
It was a great central location to go out exploring the local area (and further afield). The cottage is very well equipped and they have made the most of the space available.
NOTE: there is not an enclosed garden, rather a gravel parking place allocated to the cottage that has a table and chairs, this does mean you can't just let the pooch out to go and do his business first thing in the morning and last thing a night, not an issue but it does mean a 6am start ;-)
I would suggest that the owners update the details booklet to advise guests where to dispose of their rubbish, we couldn't find anything that explained where the bins were and what was supposed to be deposited where (the locals seem to have 10 different bags and bins for different waste), we had to ask a neighbour in the end and they weren't too sure either. There was also nothing stating what day the bins were collected.
We did have an issue with the hot water whilst we were there, there is a switch outside the bathroom that is marked as WiFi but apparently this also runs the hot water tank, we must have turned the switch off at some point without realising, this meant no hot water. In trying to remedy the situation we flicked the fuse for the hot water which in turn then tripped the switch on the tank (completely our fault). We contacted the owners and they were very quick to respond and sorted the issue out for us but again maybe some instructions for guests would be a good idea.
All in all a very nice stay and we will definitely be back again.
