The village of Coleford has a great pub the New Inn and can be reached on foot, just over a mile.
There is also a good pub at Yeoford a 15 mins walk where you can also hop aboard the Ale Train along the Tarka line that winds its way through the beautiful countryside from Exeter to north coast and Barnstaple, North Devons premier town.
Join the two moors way from the cottage, where you can follow the route that spans from Ivybridge on the south edge of Dartmoor to Lynmouth on the North coast of Exmoor.
For beach days, head south to Exmouth that can be reached by car or by train, and the wild moors and high tors of Dartmoor can be reached in less than half an hour.
The nearest town is Crediton where you will find a good selection of shops, a weekly farmers market and a large supermarket.
