Blackawton and the surrounding hamlets and villages are well placed for a tranquil South Devon break. In easy reach of Dartmouth and the beaches of Start Bay, the location offers a delightful balance between seclusion and convenience, with a wealth of picturesque walks, welcoming local pubs and more on your doorstep. In the centre of the village on Main Street, the 14th century Parish Church of St Michael completes the setting whole-heartedly. The George Inn is a family-run pub in the heart of the village. Situated across from the church, this dog-friendly inn backs onto some beautiful South Hams countryside, and there are outside tables where you can relax and take in the scenery. Nearby, Halwell is a small village in wooded farmland equidistant from the busy little town of Kingsbridge and popular Totnes - A charming Devon town with a bustling main street and a regular market, the area boasts regular outdoor markets on Fridays and Saturdays. During the main season, between May and September, there is an Elizabethan market each Tuesday morning.
