"This is an excellent property, a second-floor apartment with superb facilities, overlooking a quaint parade of shops."
The bedrooms are spacious and well-appointed, the kitchen had all the tools we needed, the bathroom very clean (with fab shower) and it was fantastic to have a dining room/lounge to relax in. The property is a short walk from the coast and has lots of attractions including Babbacombe Model Village, Kents Cavern, the Cliff Railway and Oddicombe Beach. Paignton Zoo is also less than half an hour away by car. There are lots of places to eat in the immediate vicinity without having to drive. On arrival, the heating had a fault, but it was very promptly sorted for us (Neil, the owner, was quick to reply to messages and organise an engineer - couldn't have asked for more). We had an amazing week and loved the property. We hope to visit again!

Believe the reviews! Its comfortable, exceedingly clean, well furnished throughout and well equipped! Also very quiet! Good parking, and well placed for local amenities! We literally parked the car and left it there till the day we left. Excellent, regular bus service to other places of interest along the coast like Torquay, Teignmouth and Dawlish to name a few. All in all a very nice place to stay. Hope to come back soon!

"The accommodation was exactly as it said on your website, apart from the settees it was extremely comfortable, the bed just invited you in, a really good nights sleep."
The apartment is immaculately clean and well presented, a thumbs up to Neil and Maxine and their staff. The location couldn't be better for us with shops, bus stops, pubs, places to visit and a leisurely stroll to Babbacombe downs. I have no hesitation in recommending No.2 Chapelstones

"Property was ideally located close to all amenities, including supermarkets, cafes, bakers and fishmongers."
Restaurants are within walking distance, with others a short drive away. The apartment was clean, comfortable and tastefully furnished. Would have been a nice touch to have a welcome pack, but this didn’t detract from our stay. Would certainly recommend a visit.

"Absolutely first class apartment with generous sized rooms kitted out with all you could possibly need and more."
This was one of those rear moments that you felt comfortably at home. Max and Neil were also very helpful with their communication. The apartment was also ideally situated for access to local shops and Babbacombe prom with many convenient places to eat.

Much larger than expected with lots of space to relax. Really good location close to shops and cafes. Bedrooms overlook the pedestrian area of St Marychurch but was also very quiet and peaceful. Allocated parking space, easy to find and good access to Torquay either by driving or walking. Thoroughly recommend

Bonus parking spot. Very informative guide giving emergency numbers and where important switches located if needed electric etc. Felt at home straight away due to contact from Neil and Max from the moment we booked. Would certainly plan to stay at Chapelstones again perhaps for a longer stay. One small negative on description on website 2 flights of stairs to reach property after parking. Just in case mobility issues exist.

You can park your car in the dedicated parking space and then you need not use it at all during your holiday you can travel anywhere in the area on the exelent local bus service.this was a very enjoyable holiday

"From the start of the booking Neil made contact and supplied us with useful information and made both himself & Maxine easily accessible for contact."
This is a first for us as Sykes normally release this info once the full balance of the holiday has been paid - really refreshing to see and the info Neil provided early on gave us plenty of time to plan our holiday! Plenty of mentions in other reviews mention the quality of the accommodation and equipment etc and we would echo that! The location for us was perfect within easy walking distance of a lovely beach and plenty of boutique shops. Also, key locations within Torbay an easy short drive away. All in all a super stay and yet another quality Sykes Cottage!!

We were unsure if we could use the outdoor space but it didn’t spoil our stay. We especially liked the precinct and the walk to the beach great!

The kitchen was well equipped and the beds were very comfortable. The location was great for our needs and there were plenty of shops around for supplies. Maxine and Neil contacted us straight away to provide all the necessary information and were available for any assistance even helping in extending our stay by an extra day. We had very enjoyable time at Chapelstones and would not hesitate to stay there again.

"This is a fabulous apartment, with every facility you could ever need."
Spectacularly clean, with a beautiful kitchen, which has almost every conceivable thing you will need, and more. This apartment is a well placed base from which to explore the surrounding area. We arrived in Torquay by train and used the extensive and frequent bus services that are available. There is a small bus station not more than 200 yards away, just around the corner from the Co-Op. There are 3 well stocked supermarkets within a 500yard radius of the apartment. There is a Co-Op, a Sainsburys and a good Tesco's. Unfortunately the 2 pubs in the precinct were not to out liking, and are best avoided, as they were very crowded and extremely noisy, but there is a good selection of venues just a little further down the road on Babbacombe Downs, or a short bus ride into Torquay and back, with no parking worries! Would I recommend this apartment? Absolutely!
Thank you so much for the lovely review. Both the pubs in the precinct tend to cater for local trade and can be lively on a Friday night. I prefer, as you suggest, the short walk to Babbacombe Downs where there's a better selection of venues. There is an independent shop called the "Happy Apple" at the top of the precinct which is my favourite as it sells spices & hard to find ingredients. Having lived in the apartment below, I didn't need to use my car as everything is in walking distance and the buses can take you everywhere and its cheaper than parking. Parking is off road and right by the entrance. We found the location perfect for exploring the local beaches, shops and model village and a base for further exploring. Maxine and Neil are extremely helpful and responded to our questions very quickly. Definitely recommend a stay here

"We regularly visit Torquay and surrounding areas to visit family."
This is the best accommodation we have ever stayed in! Although we did not meet the owners they were very responsive by phone and they have literally thought of everything! Internally the apartment is VERY spacious with 2 huge bedrooms containing the most comfortable beds!! There is plenty of room to put up the provided spare beds without feeling cramped! The kitchen is very well equipped with plenty of pots/pans/plates/cups/glasses for every occasion. They provided tea and coffee, salt pepper and general cleaning supplies (I know have not always been given since covid). The living area again is very spacious, with comfortable couches and even throws to snuggle down with! Although we are not one for TV and internet when away they were the best I have seen when away if that is your thing. The internet was very fast and streaming services available on the TV (although it is quite a small tele). The Apartment is a great base for exploring. Literally downstairs is the local street with shops, pubs and cafes, still very quiet at night though! There is a sainsburies and coop writhing a 5 min walk. As there are 2 flights of slippery metal stairs to the entrance this may not be the best accommodation for you if you are bad on your feet and need to bring in a pram. We managed perfectly fine with 3 small children though! Definitely recommend and hoping to return ourselves!

Everything had been thought of, from a spanking new all singing/dancing coffee machine to pen and notepad, to rubber gloves. Excellent tea, coffee and shortbread biscuits welcomed us, as did Max who was delightful. She and Neil were in touch during our stay to ensure all was going smoothly – which it was. The apartment is right by the pedestrian precinct in St Marychurch which has a fishmonger, butcher, coffee shops and restaurants – plenty of choice for cooking at home or a picnic. The information pack gives helpful information on places to visit and eat. We loved walking to stunning Babbacome Downs and our favourite eatery was Babbacombe Bay Café, particularly their cream tea. If you’re visiting during the summer it’s advisable to book ahead for attractions as we missed out on a few including the caves which were booked up, and only got into Compton Castle (recommended) on a cancellation. We spent one of our two sunny days at Broadsands Beach which has a great café run with pride, and the other day on the glorious, if incongruously-named Blackpool Sands near Dartmouth which has plenty of parking and cleaner water. We highly recommend this lovely apartment which has no negatives: even the noise from the pub opposite could be shut out easily by closing the windows. Many thanks to Max and Neil for a really wonderful stay.
