The property

Hocking Cottage is a delightful stone-fronted dwelling, tucked away in the heart of St. Marychurch in Devon.

This cottage is believed to date back to the early 18th century, maintaining some of its original features, whilst displaying a stylish interior, making it the perfect accommodation for a small family of four looking to explore Torquay.

The property is adorned with a light decor and lovely exposed beams, showing off a wealth of character, while stunning hardwood flooring can be seen throughout the living space.

The sitting room has a large corner sofa and is ideal for relaxing and unwinding after a long day of sightseeing, while the kitchen has a set of white fitted units and wooden worktops, with a range of high-quality appliances on-hand to produce some delicious home-cooked meals for the family.

Upstairs you will find two bedrooms, a double, and a twin which features zip/link beds that can be made into a super-king-size upon request, catering to all types of groups; with a wall-mounted TV in each bedroom, you don't have to leave your bed of a morning to catch up on your favourite shows!

There is a family bathroom with a P-shaped bath and shower over, plus contemporary fixtures and fittings and lovely white tiling.

Hocking Cottage is set in the centre of the village of St Marychurch, nearby a range of local shops, pubs, restaurants, tea rooms and cafés you can reach within walking distance, along with a delicious selection of the freshest fish and seafood which arrives daily at the thriving Fish Market.

Why not pop into the precinct or stroll along Babbacombe Downs, where you will find the famous Victorian cliff railway and Babbacombe Theatre?

You will also find Babbacombe Model Village, spanning across four acres of award-winning gardens which opened in 1963 by Tom Dobbins, showcasing a miniature model village, including houses, vehicles, a castle, and a dragon.

Venture towards Torquay Golf Club, founded in 1909 and had three-lined fairways with magnificent views across Lyme Bay and Portland Bill, which is open to visitors of all types, whether an amateur or a seasoned professional.

If you’re looking for a fun-filled day out, why not visit Kents Cavern, one of the most important Stone Age sites in Europe, one of Britain's best show caves and one of Devon’s most popular attractions?

Daily tours will take you back to a time when the cave was home to ancient humans, sheltering from extreme weather, and its extensive labyrinth of caverns, 400-million-year-old rocks and spectacular stalagmites and stalactites are awe-inspiring.

This property is less than three miles from popular Torquay, and its host of attractions and an array of beautiful sandy shores.

The South West Coastal Path can also be accessed, where you can enjoy walking or cycling across the famous route, whilst appreciating the picturesque coastline.
