  • "We really enjoyed our stay."

The cottage was clean, spacious, and welcoming, especially the provision of bread, jams, and eggs that were left for us. Excellent base for visiting the local area, plus excellent dog walking options. We were luck to have dry weather but would expect our dog to pick up a lot of mud if wet. On that basis we were pleased to see that an outside tap/hose is planned for any dog showering needed.

A very comfy and stylish property with lots of original art and obviously new furniture beds and soft furnishings. Kitchen is extremely well equipped and welcome pack is complete with home made goodies. The owners live in the adjoining property and are on hand to help with anything or make recommendations. The village is quiet in a beautiful setting, and the village pub is popular serving unpretentious excellent food. Just be aware that all roads to the property are typical very narrow Devon lanes which can at times feel a bit hairy. Parking at the property though is easy and electric charging is a bonus

  • "This is the best cottage with roses around the door and marmalade to boost your spirits!"

Where do we start? It is situated in a lovely peaceful village, just the sound of occasional church bells and a cockerel. The cottage is beautiful with everything you would need. Excellent wifi inside the cottage and the tv has plenty of freeview channels. Beds comfortable indeed. If you want a quiet time away from reality you have found it. Huge garden which our dog Mabel loved. We found ourselves outside every morning for coffee and breakfast listening to the wood pigeons. On arrival the most fantastic supply of items left for you including home made bread, lemon drizzle cake, jam and marmalade plus other items. When I say marmalade i really mean the best ultimate thick cut heaven on this earth. Kit is a very good chef indeed. We made use of the "Kit will cook for you" on our arrival day. We said what we wanted as a menu and he cooked it to perfection. Penny and Kit are awesome hosts, there if you need them and not intrusive in any way. Lovely friendly couple. We thoroughly recommend this property as a way of recharging batteries in life. Great for visiting Torbay, Dartmouth, Salcombe etc. Advice : Read the instructions attending the property beforehand as there is no phone signal outside or inside the property. Phones can use the very good wifi for calls etc once logged on.

And we loved having you here. We do hope you will both return with Mabel Penny and Kit Property Owner

The owners/hosts are extremely hospitable and friendly. We arrived to find the most generous welcome hamper including many home made treats. All gratefully consumed by the end of our stay. The cottage is very well appointed and equipped for self catering. There are also 3 pubs serving excellent food within walking distance. We highly recommend staying at this cottage and would love to return in the future.

Lovely to have the young and their pups with us. There are both two frying pans and a grater in the cupboards - I’m sorry they didn’t knock on the door and ask as we would have pointed them in the right direction. The welcome pack was amazing from fresh white roses, home made bread and yummy lemon drizzle, milk and butter and a lovely bottle of red wine. The weather wasn’t overly kind to us but we had a lovely week with our cavapoo Blue, who loved the garden and the doggy treats that were left for him. The local pub was great and the landlord very welcoming to us and Blue who was very happy with the doggy biscuits they gave him! We highly recommend Court Prior Cottage.

The owners, next door, were very friendly and helpful and supplied us with a fab welcome pack and lots of little extras. The enclosed front garden was also great for our two pooches. Fantastic walks from the cottage was a real bonus. Apart from the terrible weather, which is just life, we had a great stay. Shame the local pub was shut during our week but hey, it was January and I know a lot do close during this time. If I had to find a negative, it would be that we really needed a bit more space to hang very wet coats, leggings and dry off boots etc as the entrance porch was not heated and we worried about hanging all this in the main living area. Apart from that we couldn’t fault it.
