"This was a Lovely place to stay in."
The cottage was very comfortable and cosy. The view was spectacular. We would love to go back and have recommended it to our friends. It had everything we needed. And it was very Clean and tastefully done.

"Absolutely perfect."
Thank you George & Kate for sharing your relaxing and wonderful home. We literally did ‘feel at home’ the minute we walked in. The views are stunning, the cottage was immaculate, and within walking distance of all the restaurants. We spent our time walking & exploring the area or (when the rain stopped!) just sitting in the garden or in the top floor lounge listening to the sea & admiring the amazing ever changing view. We even managed to see a full sun set into the sea & a dolphin. We definitely hope to return next year.

"A fabulous blend of old and new, this lovely waterside cottage is a delightful place to stay."
The views of the estuary are breathtaking. Spotlessly clean and with free, easy come and go parking, we would love the opportunity to stay here again in the future.

"A fantastic cottage with wonderful views in a great location!"
-
"We had a lovely week in Appledore."
A beautiful cottage - quirky, spotlessly clean with everything you need and the view over the river is spectacular. The surrounding area is beautiful with numerous places to visit. There is no parking at the cottage but there is a reserved parking space in the car park just a short walk away so not a problem. Very friendly and helpful owners too!
-
"This was idyllic; the view to the estuary was spectacular - we spent many hours sitting watching the boats go by and the tide come in an out."
Its. perfect relaxing setting and the village of Appledore supports that relaxation. The hosts were superb in communicating with us and helping out. The cottage is charming and well set out with mod cons as well as historical features. We loved our stay and will come back !

"What a wonderful week at Mariners Cottage!"
! We could have spent the whole time just enjoying the view from either the bottom of the garden or the first floor lounge. Heaven!! The cottage is really well appointed, with everything you could need for a self catering holiday and the parking space is very close which was a bonus. The hosts were extremely helpful providing useful information prior to the trip and even a welcome text to make sure we’d arrived ok. Mariners Cottage is a definitely somewhere we would stay again - TBH, we really didn’t want to leave!
-
"Book this cottage if you can."
We loved how every room had its own character, all of them tastefully decorated and well equipped. The views from the kitchen area, the garden and the upstairs snug are all superb. We wish we had booked for two weeks.

"This is our third visit and it’s as good as ever."
Beautifully furnished and a fabulous spot!!

"A wonderful cottage in a great location."
-
"Beautiful and fabulously presented cottage in a stunning location."
Exceeded our expectations in every way. Very comfortably and tastefully furnished and good sized bedrooms but the outstanding feature is the modern open plan kitchen and attractive cottage garden with views of the estuary. Smell the roses as you watch the sun go down! Great location with pleasant walk into Appledore. Can’t find any faults, only superlatives.

"The best Sykes Cottage we’ve ever stayed at!"
Loved it and loved Appledore. Very tastefully decorated, wonderfully clean and inviting and we didn’t want to leave. We were blessed with glorious weather but even if we hadn’t been then I don’t think my view of the place would be any different. The indoor outdoor living and view of the estuary was wonderful, the lounge very encoring and the upstairs living room perfect for watching the sun rise and fall. Appledore has some lovely pubs and restaurants the closest being only a minute away on the flat. The parking permit was an added bonus. Thank you George and Kate!

The view was great and the house had a lovely garden to sit out in. The owners were attentive and made sure that we had all that we needed. I would definitely recommend

"A stunning cottage with amazing views."
We stayed with elderly parents and the downstairs bedroom worked a treat, only having to use the stairs for the shower room. Cosy sitting room on the first floor is perfect for those late summer evenings admiring the views. Excellent location for Appledore, which in itself is a fab place to stay. Parking permit in the car park, a short walk way, was perfect. Highly recommended.

"The property is in a lovely position with great views so it’s easy to spend a relaxing few hours just sitting watching the world go by."
There are places of interest nearby as well.
-
"We stayed at Mariners 10 times when it belonged to previous owners."
We loved the location, the sea against the garden wall and the garden itself. We returned after a 9 year break to find these same delights, but with much needed modernisation. A lovely light, bright kitchen/dining area with bifold doors allowing the sea, garden and interior to meet. The walk in shower is a real bonus too.
-
"A lovely well furnished cottage in a great location on the sea wall."
Although it has three bedrooms, we think it is more enjoyable for two or three people due to the quaintness and size of some of the rooms. We look forward to our next visit!
-
"We had a lovely week at Mariners Cottage, it is a delightful property, beautiful garden and views."
The decor of the cottage is bright and airy, with everything you need for a stress free break. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the sitting area upstairs watching the sun set. The owners were very helpful and quick to respond to queries, thank you very much for sharing your beautiful property!
-
"WOW, just WOW."
We had a wonderful weeks stay in this cottage. Everything we needed was provided. The cottage was spotless and had a real homely feel to it. The view from the back garden was amazing, watching the boats and sunsets and sunrises. We were blessed with beautiful weather. We visisted other local places, Barnstaple, Bideford and Ilfracombe. If you are thinking of booking to stay here I suggest you do it quickly. I would hate for soneone to miss out on such a truly amazing cottage.

"Lovely quiet place great for relaxing and walking"
-
"Mariners Cottage is idyllic with wonderful views across the estuary."
It’s absolutely perfect for 4-5 adults / older children. It’s very comfortable and good living space (it’s like a tarsus) where you can chill and enjoy the views. Appledore is a small unspilt town and isn’t commercialised at all … but has enough pubs / restaurants to enjoy eating out whilst there.
-

Very peaceful and set up just right to take in all the amazing views. Couldn’t fault it.
