"Our 4th visit to Lake Street, which probably says everything you need to know."
As usual it was pretty much perfect, sadly no welcome goodies this time. The weather was amazing for October! It’s a shame Coast and Country don’t offer discounts for repeat guests like ourselves, or a 2 person discount, as a small gesture.

"A great little place in a really good location, just a couple of minutes walk to anywhere in Dartmouth so great for anyone who doesn’t fancy tackling the steps or hills!"
(Although the stairs in the house are pretty steep!) Really well equipped (was just missing a little freezer for me). Lovely comfortable sofa and beds. The upstairs balcony is a great touch for a sunny morning. I’d be happy to come back myself or recommend for friends or family for a stay in beautiful Dartmouth.

"The cottage was lovely but downstairs smelled very damp."
There was also evidence of either roof leaks or water ingress from somewhere. However, I would consider staying there again as it's a nice place and great location

"25 Lake Street was clean and comfortable in a good central location."
Excellent beds, great shower, well equipped kitchen (though a bit more cutlery would have been good) and comfy sofa in lounge. We had a lovely stay. We weeded around the front of the house just to make the entrance more appealing but otherwise a fantastic stay in Dartmouth.

"We had a wonderful time at Lake Street."
It was very comfortable and quiet. One thing to mention, the stairs to the first floor are very steep and that should be mentioned in the property description online. The stairs could be a problem for some people.

"Well equipped, very clean & well presented & the sofa appears to be new (different from that in the photos) & probably due to previous comments about it being uncomfortable."
We found it to be very comfortable. A “set” fire would’ve been good, or include a small supply of logs/kindling. No cleaning products available although the tea towel/single dishwasher tablet & washing machine capsule & leftover washing up liquid was appreciated. Suggest a single multi-surface product is provided. It might be worth looking at the ironing board as it’s a little unstable. On departure I removed the out of date condiments, in-line with “house rules” although these were left by previous occupants. I Googled how to use the washer/dryer - again much appreciated to provide one though. We found the key for the side access to the larger rear space but it didn’t feel like we could use it & was quite sparse. Overall this accommodation is almost 5 stars & is in a fabulous location: to achieve full marks: 1) Provide multi-surface/purpose cleaning product. 2) Set fire or enough logs/kindling to make ONE, then occupants should fund their own. 3) Update the blue folder with more specific “cottage” guidance…suggest sectioning the content cottage guidance/food/things to do. This really is a great place to stay, very homely, well laid out & designed. The points raised are NOT complaints, just opportunities for improvement & it’s very clear the owners are reading & positively actioning feedback they receive. We felt like we wanted to look after it & maintain its standards. We’d definitely recommend this accommodation.

"The property was everything that was advertised."
It was clean and comfortable and well equipped

"Beautiful place to stay."
Very well equipped & emmaculately clean. The accommodation is also very well situated for all amenities. Would definitely recommend.

"The cottage is lovely with mainly very good quality furnishings."
However the sofa is very uncomfortable as other guests have noted in the visitors book. We stayed in a really cold spell at the start of the week and struggled to keep the open plan lounge warm enough. Later in the week we were fine though! The wood burner is not very efficient and was hard to light with the kindling and wood provided. We managed fine once we had bought better kindling and kiln dried logs. Plenty of places to park nearby out of season.

"We had an amazing stay at this property."
The photos don’t do it justice. A perfect little place with everything you need, and in a great location. Literally 2 mins walk from the shops, pubs, restaurants and the waterfront. We couldn’t have had a better week in Dartmouth.

"Lovely little cottage, great location."

"Our third visit to no."
25 and it was perfect as always, clean, warm, snug and well equipped. The logs, dog treats and wine were very much appreciated. We missed the parking permit for the Mayors car park as this worked well before, but most days got a space opposite the cottage, which used to be reserved for the old GP surgery, or parked on the embankment when this wasn’t possible. Great food to be had in Yarn, Seven Stars, Floating Bridge Inn. The Dolphin always worth a visit for a pint. Fresh fish from Mark in the nearby market was superb, quality meat from the local butcher, awesome wine from Dartmouth Wine Co. Dartmouth is a gem and the cottage location is perfect. Thoroughly relaxed and spoilt!

"Lovely cottage really liked the decor."
We will definitely return next time we’re in Dartmouth as location is ideal.

"Really lovely cottage, which was spotless on arrival and The bottle of wine in the fridge was appreciated."
Agree with a previous reviewer that it is a shame there is no ice box. Apart from that everything you need - no logs were left for us for the fire but the house was very warm even though the weather was not the best, so we did not need them and and we never asked for any, in which case I am sure they would have been provided. You can also buy logs in the market over the road. Would definitely stay again if we come back to Dartmouth.
Thank you for your lovely comments. I am glad you enjoyed your stay and I hope to have you stay again in the future. Property Owner

"Our second visit to this lovely little cottage, the bottle of welcome wine in the fridge was much appreciated."
It was spotlessly clean on arrival and we were pleased to notice some signs of recent maintenance. We used the wood burner this time and it really gives off some heat, the cottage is lovely and warm without it if you don’t want to bother. The wireless speaker was great for streaming music from our iPad. You really don’t want for anything staying here as it’s so well thought out and equipped with quality items. The permit for the car park really makes life easy. It’s ideally situated and close to all that Dartmouth has to offer, loads of good places to eat and drink a short stroll away. Definitely try the fishmonger and butcher by the old market. A perfect winter getaway.
Thank you for your lovely review. I am very glad you enjoyed your stay. Property Owner

"Delicious Dartmouth."
We had a fabulous week in this lovely cottage. A couple of initial small cleaning issues quickly resolved by the office staff. The cottage was very well equipped with quality items and had an overall high end feel. Great location, a very short walk to everything Dartmouth has to offer. Some fabulous restaurants, pubs and bars close by. Local butcher, fishmonger and wine merchant were superb and it was easy to get what we wanted. Simple to enjoy a lovely walk with the dog and we found it very dog friendly. The in-town car parking permit was really handy, we hardly used the car as we were content in Dartmouth. Can’t wait to return!

"A comfortable cottage with cheerful decor in a central location."
Easy to walk to everything Dartmouth has to offer. Only a 5 min walk to the Royal Gardens and waterfront so good for walking the dog in the morning and evening.
I am very glad you enjoyed your stay at Rock 'n' Reel cottage. Property Owner

"This was an exceptional let and we had a lovely time."
The property could benefit from a freezer facility but apart from that it was absolutely amazing.
Thank you so much for your feedback. I am very glad you enjoyed your stay. I will take your feedback about the freezer on board! Property Owner

"The cottage is small but well laid out so not claustrophobic."
The three of us stayed at the property including our small dog and there was sufficient room for us. We were lucky with the weather so the little outdoor cocktail bar area proved to be an ideal spot to sit and read a book in the sunshine. Only thing I would criticise it for was there is no garden for the dog but that was made clear in the property description. You are a short walk to the shops and river so it was easy to enough to walk the dog at the start/end of each day.
Thank you very much for your feedback, I am glad you enjoyed your stay and the area of Dartmouth! Property Owner

"Cottage was very nice good location."
Had a problem with the wi fi connection but once reported to the office situation resolved very quickly.Only one downside we had to clean the oven it seemed to have been overlooked.but after all cottage stay great
Thank you for your feedback. So happy to hear you enjoyed your stay. I apologise that the cleanliness of the oven was overlooked. We will have to make sure this doesn't happen in the future! Property Owner
