  • "We really enjoyed our stay and the house was so warm and welcoming."

It is such a spacious property and had everything we needed. I did feedback that the springs in one of the twin beds had gone and all the bedding was down which I hadn’t realised. If you are allergic like me you can request for this to be changed so next time I will. Overall we would stay here again as it was so homely and the views were gorgeous.

  • "Beautifully decorated."

Interest in the street below all day and clear views of the river. Bedrooms are all at the back away from the street noise. Good banisters on outside stairs.

So pleased you appreciated the decoration. That is my sister's forte, and she spends a lot of time and effort getting the balance of style and comfort just right. And yes, the only noise in the bedrooms is the seagulls! Thank you for taking the time to review. Property Owner

  • "Lovely roomy accommodation located perfectly within the town."

The steps up to the apartment did not cause any issues with our party members and were worth it for the view from the lounge area. The separation between the two main bedrooms worked perfectly for privacy. We highly recommended this accommodation. Having a parking permit was very helpful and the car park was only a short distance away.

Thank you so much for your thoughtful review. We are so pleased you enjoyed your stay in our flat. Especially that you enjoyed the view - what a view! We often just sit there all day, taking it all in; boat and people watching is entrancing. Property Owner

  • "Great property in a fantastic location."

Really clean and very well equipped kitchen. Loved the extra touches left by the owners such as shampoos, conditioner, shower gel, washing up liquid, foil. You're never quite sure what will be available so end up bringing everything. More info on parking would have been helpful. Tried to contact Sykes twice while we were away and never heard back. Your customer service and contact could have been much better. Light bulb gone in the bunk room. Otherwise a lovely break away.

Dear Sarah Thank you so much for taking the time to review our apartment. And also for the very helpful feedback. We know we would appreciate the fact that the kitchen and bathrooms are quite well stocked with stuff our guests might need. It is quite hard to keep on top of restocking items we offer, so we have decided it's safer not to promise anything and then it's a nice surprise when you arrive. We are sorry that you struggled to reach out to the Sykes team, they have no record of you trying to make contact, but we do hope you enjoyed your stay and look forward to welcoming you back in the future should you visit Dartmouth again. • "We absolutely loved this apartment, it was ideal for our party, as it allowed so much privacy with two of the bedrooms being on a mezzanine and on a different side to the double room."

We found the view of the passing street-life and ferry activity endlessly fascinating and being able to walk straight off the ferry to the apartment and having Alf Resco just down the road were also huge bonuses. The apartment was beautifully furnished, full of lovely artwork and personal touches, so we weren't surprised to hear that it has been a family home for 4 generations. We found the beds very comfortable and loved everything about it, we hope to be back at some point, it felt like home from home.

Dear Susan, thank you so much for your lovely feedback. We are SO pleased you enjoyed staying in our apartment. Sitting in the window watching the world go by below is indeed endlessly fascinating and I have spent many hours doing just that. Property Owner

  • "Very spacious apartment - five fitted in very well."

Location very good - short walk to all areas of town and some river views an added bonus. Listing did mention steps up to apartment and theses were a bit difficult with cases. Parking permit was really appreciated.

Dear Mr Wimbleton, Thanks so much for taking the time to write us a review and such a positive one! Yes, those steps can be a bit of a challenge (Dartmouth is a bit like that). But it does mean that being at the top of the house, we get those fantastic river views you mention and we can also spend hours watching people come and go down on the street below. Hope we can welcome you again soon to our apartment. Best wishes, Caroline and Luke Property Owner

  • "We had a lovely stay at 29b."

Everything is on your doorstep in Dartmouth and that made for an easy and relaxed break. 29b is well-equipped, charming and very comfortable. We did not explore that far but had lovely walks out to the castle, boat trips and went to Blackpool Sands.

  • "Perfect place for a base ,but not if you are looking for a beach holiday."

The flat was clean, the bedding and towels were snowy white, but the double bed was so uncomfortable we had to sleep on a couple of duvets.the area is very friendly, the people are lovely. we would of greatly appreciated a welcome pack, we have stayed in many flats and cotages and always had milk, cake or such like.all in all we really enjoyed our stay.thankyou.

So glad you enjoyed your stay! Dartmouth is a beautiful little town, stuffed full of things to do (boating, shopping, sightseeing, walking, eating, or just idling!) but you do have to travel a little way to get to our nearest super child-friendly beach at Blackpool Sands. There is a beach out below the castle but is a little bit rocky and tidal but great for exploring. Thank you for your note about the bed- it is a little firm and we will get it changed in due course. Do hope you can come back before too long! Property Owner

About the location

DARTMOUTH

Totnes 12 miles.

Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
