"Disappointed that we were given the wrong keys."
Fortunately we’re ample to drive back to your office. Did try phoning but it was a recorded style message. The parking is first class ( we know hoe difficult it is to park in Dartmouth, outside your rental property, as we did own a house in the town. The crockery re cups & glasses which were very large & industrial let the property down. The microwave did not work but we worked round this. We would stay at the Dart Marina again.

"We enjoyed our stay and very much liked the property."
It could have done with a larger TV in living room and also think the downstairs wooden floors need a 'refresh' plus more glasses in the kitchen. We look forward to returning to glorious Dartmouth.

"We have been coming to Dartmouth for many years and have stayed in a few of the other Dart Marina apartments."
This one was nice as it had the terrace to sit out in and have drinks and food. However even though the apartment was for 4 people there were no large bowls or pleated for serving food on. There were the normal everyday mugs, plates and bowls but if you wanted a salad there was nothing to serve it in. On a positive note the use of a windbreak, sun shade and two fold up chairs were most welcome for the beach trips.

"Lovely place to stay."
The bedrooms and bathrooms are really lovely. Could do with a bigger TV and maybe one in the bedroom. That said the views are great.

"The house was lovely but we found the living space quite cramped."
The heating was not working and we had to contact the agents.

"Apartment is described as luxury."
We would class it as "A modern, comfortably apartment"

"Fantastic holiday,Wonderful apartment, far exceeded our expectations, The only very slight irritations were the audio system remote control was very corroded and didn't work, and the C."
D. player didn't work. On arrival there was only 5 coat hangers.we asked the office for help and within 30mins they delivered 2 packs of coat hangers. We have booked for next year again and wouldn't consider booking with any other agent.Well done every one at Sykes especially Dartmouth office.

"Certain aspects of the stay were disappointing as they were obvious cost cutting measures, which I feel was unreasonable given the price of 1 weeks accommodation in a peak ‘school holiday’ week."
No welcome pack, not even a bit of milk or a tea bag provided… Bin bags also not supplied at all, which is a bit stupid given that every bin in the property was a different size so buying several rolls of bin bags would be a bit stupid for a 1 week stay. Are things really so tight that reasonable basics can’t be supplied in a premium property??? Other than these minor gripes, the property was fantastic, and fully met our expectations.

"This a pleasant two bedroomed house, generally well furnished and decorated and well equipped."
It is within easy walking distance of Dartmouth town centre with its shops, restaurants, pubs and ferries. We found that all the restaurants within our price range were very busy and it is advisable to book if you can. We had a problem with opening the curtains in the master bedroom and spoke to the local agent who had handyman with us within the hour; excellent servcie. Unfortunately he could not fix the problem and thought a replacement cord pull mechanism was needed. He said he would ask the office to contact the owner and seek instructions. That is the last we heard and spent two weeks with the curtains closed. Dartmouth and Kingswear, across the river, are pretty little towns and the whole ambience of the areawas relaxing. It was lovely to sit on the patio at the house with a drink, watching the boats pass up and down the river and the steam trains working hard on the other side. Other that one niggle with the curtains, a very enjoyable two weeks.

"Superb property, excellently presented, however would comment that perhaps instruction leaflets for the various electrical appliances would be very helpful if these were included in the folder."

"Dealing with Sykes Holiday Cottages has been five star."
From booking to the reminders of the holiday and updating information related to collecting keys and travelling directions this is exceptional. My only disappointment was not being able to use the spa facilities at the Dart Marina Hotel without an expensive extra cost but this was not the fault of Sykes Cottages more of my own as many of the holiday lets in the complex had access which rather led me to believe this one did too. It was a pity that all the lets did not have that access. Otherwise I have no hesitation in using or recommending this company to anyone.

"I liked the fact that the apartment has a Nespresso machine as I drink Nespresso coffee and could take my capsules with me."
However, the apartment had no espresso or lungo cups/glasses. This meant using larger cups for my coffee; whereas this was OK it did detract from the experience of drinking my coffee. This is a small thing that I only mention in order to help the owners improve their offering.

Totnes 12 miles.
Dartmouth lies on the banks of the beautiful River Dart estuary in the popular and picturesque South Hams area of South Devon. Located within an Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty and close to the coast, Dartmouth is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Devon. It offers a stunning waterfront, ancient narrow streets lined with boutique shops, restaurants and art galleries plus many local events such as the annual Dart Music Festival and the Port of Dartmouth Royal Regatta, along with the Dartmouth Food Festival held every October. There are many interesting cycling and walking routes around Dartmouth, including the South West Coast Path, the Dart Valley Trail and plenty of quiet country lanes. A trip on the Dartmouth Steam Railway through picturesque countryside to Paignton is a must, and so is a boat trip across to Kingswear and on to Brixham, a pretty little harbour town. For those seeking some beach activities, there is a wide choice in the South Hams area such as Blue Flag Award winner Blackpool Sands, and Slapton Sands, both extremely popular and just a stone's throw from Dartmouth. A relaxing location in South Devon.
